A good portion of the antisemitism discourse in Canada is also doing the same, aided and abetted by government advocacy of the flawed IHRA definition of antisemitism and amplified by ignorant comments from civic leaders. I stand with Jewish Canadians against Israel’s war crimes.
Israel and many Israelis are increasingly weaponizing the term "antisemitism." What once denoted terrifying hatred has become a shield for deflecting legitimate criticism of government policy | Opinion | @adizes haaretz.com/opinion/2025-0…

An important piece of scholarship from Dr John Price on Canada’s role in the UN resolution to partition Palestine in 1947 and the valiant and principled effort of a pioneering 🇨🇦 woman diplomat who fought it — unsuccessfully. Not Canada’s best hour. journals.sagepub.com/doi/epub/10.11…

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is cheaper than accepting homelessness.”
Will the recently passed Bill C-202 prevent Canada from honouring the CPTPP panel decision? Testimony from hearings on the previous (identical) Bill C-282 suggests that even changes to administration of TRQs violate the new law. beehive.govt.nz/release/canada…
只此青绿 was at the @QETheatre tonight and what a show it was. The story of the 14m long Northern Song landscape painting with its legendary blue green hues was in parts ballet, history, drama, poetry, and art — all of it breathtakingly gorgeous. @ChinainVan @PalaceMuseum_

It is bad enough that Canada’s response to the genocide in Gaza may be due to indifference or cold calculation, but actively working in service of Israeli interests would amount to complicity.
Say it ain’t so @MarcCarney @AnitaAnand. Millions of Canadian await your comment. #cdnpoli reuters.com/world/middle-e…

“The war in Gaza is not a clash of cultures or religions... It is a clash between a brutal colonial power & its victims, between the occupier & the occupied, between the oppressor & the oppressed.” ~ Avi Shlaim (2024) irishpages.org/product/genoci…
As Canada watches with violent detachment, while posturing elsewhere on the importance and sanctity of international law.

Shocking, just shocking that countries would seek to use their own currencies to carry out international trade, rather than relying on the USD.
Marco announces the good news. 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏
Where are the FORMER Canadian Foreign Ministers on this question? The incumbent seems confused about international law (we adhere to it except in the case of Israel and Palestine).
30 years ago we did not prevent the Srebrenica genocide. Today we bow to the victims. The best way to honour his memory is to stop the other genocide that is now being committed in Gaza.
