Today, I successfully defended my PhD thesis and am now 🎓Dr. Matsubara !!! Big thanks to my advisor, Prof. Marco Levorato, @sameer_ and @s_mandt for being part of my committee members!🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️ The story of my PhD journey was pretty complex and too long to be posted here😂

So sad to see that @paperswithcode sunset 😭 Thank you for maintaining the great service for several years I still feel very honored to be selected as a top contributor of Papers with Code a few years ago
Honored to be selected as a top contributor of @paperswithcode 🎉 Thank you Papers with Code team for the recognition and this cool package 🥳 I'll keep contributing to this community by publishing papers with code and ML OSS for & lowering barriers to reproducible studies💪
Probably because #NeurIPS2025 reviews were out, I saw some discussions on author-reviewer duties in ML/CV/NLP communities and complaints based on some common misinformation Currently, CVPR, ICCV, and WACV require all *qualified* authors to serve as reviewers, NOT all authors
How did they achieve "careful prompting and pipeline design" for publicly known problems + solutions? Every time people say something like "we carefully tuned prompts for <benchmark name>", I feel that based on what dataset they actually tuned/modified prompts
🚨 Olympiad math + AI: We ran Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro on the fresh IMO 2025 problems. With careful prompting and pipeline design, it solved 5 out of 6 — remarkable for tasks demanding deep insight and creativity. The model could win gold! 🥇 #AI #Math #LLMs #IMO2025
stealing the spotlight from kids just to hype yourselves is not a good look
🚨 According to a friend, the IMO asked AI companies not to steal the spotlight from kids and to wait a week after the closing ceremony to announce results. OpenAI announced the results BEFORE the closing ceremony. According to a Coordinator on Problem 6, the one problem OpenAI…

Can you tell what's wrong with this? Hint: the taste was good for a frozen food😋

Looks nice!

We just released the best 3B model, 100% open-source, open dataset, architecture details, exact data mixtures and full training recipe including pre-training, mid-training, post-training, and synthetic data generation for everyone to train their own. Let's go open-source AI!
Introducing SmolLM3: a strong, smol reasoner! > SoTA 3B model > dual mode reasoning (think/no_think) > long context, up to 128k > multilingual: en, fr, es, de, it, pt > fully open source (data, code, recipes) huggingface.co/blog/smollm3
I'd have used the opportunity if such tracks existed A paper received the BEST PAPER AWARD at some venue I pointed out at their GH repo 1) potential error in model arch and 2) the results are not reproducible at all even with their code Then, they silently deleted the GH issue

You don’t need a PhD to be a great AI researcher, as long as you’re standing on the shoulders of 100 who have one.
You don’t need a PhD to be a great AI researcher. Even @OpenAI’s Chief Research Officer doesn’t have a PhD.
