Just gave my first presentation as a PhD student! I shared my work on developing an interactive identification key for Lepeophtheirus, a genus of parasitic copepods and brought along a 3D printed model to bring these tiny parasites to life.

Being a good mentor to many scientists with different needs is hard. Managing folks is also hard. I guess everything can be taught, but you must be extremely introspective and intentional with growing as a mentor/manager. It’s a lot on top of all the job responsibilities.
