I just want to say I am INCREDIBLY proud of the vast number of doctors (all grades) for speaking up and calling out the unacceptable pay & treatments of UK doctors. The movement is contagious & won't just blow over. We are the change we need! 🦀🦀🦀
Ok @wesstreeting, the Internet remembers. We remember. You are what you , not what you say you would do!
Now we know why Rishi Sunak refuses to negotiate with NHS staff. He wants the strikes to go ahead, so he can blame doctors and nurses for his failure. #PMQs
Just finished my night on-call shift yesterday - then drove straight to the @WestMidsBMA regional picket to stand in solidarity with fellow @BMAResidents doctors. As doctors, we don’t strike lightly. This is our last resort to fight for the pay we deserve. @TheBMA ✊️
Please don't tell me that it is unreasonable, greedy or whatever that resident doctors are asking for £4 more an hour. Just to restore our pay. A FOUR GBP EXTRA PER HOUR. For people who resuciate, intubate patients and make life/death decisions.
@wesstreeting we all got your letter through NHS England encouraging us not to strike but we turned up on the picket lines around the country, where are you?
This is why Resident doctors in England are taking a stand against the Government - it’s time to pay us what we're worth. Support us on the picket lines 📢 25 to 30 July #PayRestoration #DoctorsStrike bma.org.uk/residentspay
Thank you @jeremycorbyn for visiting our regional WM @BMAResidents doctors picket line. Where is @wesstreeting? No doctor wants to strike. We want to be at work doing what we spent years training for. Today, we stand together @TheBMA because there's no other choice.

Excuse me what??? Please show me some evidence of this claim that Too many women are doctors somehow means patients struggle to see GPs... Deeply misogynistic, to say the least!
🧵 Retired surgeon Prof Meirion Thomas' claims that patients struggle to see GPs because “too many women are doctors” are insulting and unfounded. Workforce challenges stem from underfunding and rising demand, not gender.
One can say this is cringe-worthy or whatever. I personally think it's fantastic that these UK specialist resident doctors are celebrated for their achievements by their training body. 🎊🎉🥂
An extremely warm welcome to our new ST3s Max Dewhurst, Emily Boother, Siddarth Raj, Peggy Miller and Aniket Bharadwaj. They will be joining the Royal London rotation in October.
One could argue that there are more important things to focus on to improve residency or postgraduate training for UK doctors. Absolutely! This isn't the only thing, of course, but what is so wrong with taking pride in such achievements by doctors?
GMC referrals carry a high risk of suicide for doctors. Abusing the important referral pathway is harmful. We need to call this out. Every single time.
This morning a senior PA lecturer has said he has reported me to the GMC for misinformation. I was also called a troll. Happy to correct any misinformation but he wasn’t able to specify. Instead he deleted his FB account. I’m a dr concerned about pt safety. That’s it.
Consultants and SAS doctors in England - look out for your indicative ballot email from @TheBMA today! Wes Streeting called pay restoration "a journey, not an event" - so why have we stopped? Are you prepared to stand up to demand your value is recognised by the government?
