When the group responsible for integrity is raising red flags, it’s an obvious sign to take a closer look. Transparency isn’t optional—especially when it comes to picking an Inspector General.
NEWS: The Association of Inspectors General is out with a lengthy letter this morning to the Baltimore County Executive and County expressing “deep concern” about the IG selection process. The AIG notes conflict of interest and departure from current law in selection.
The Baltimore County Council needs to take note of this.
Letter states AIG sees Baltimore County treating "the selection of an Inspector General as substantially similar to the appointment of other senior staff who are charged to advance the agenda (including the political agenda) of the County Executive."
