ONE politician made an effort to speak out against the overreach of the Online Safety Bill before it went into law. @KemiBadenoch. She was pilloried for it from left to right. Accused of endangering children and enabling terrorism. But she was right.

This would be the right move. The bill is in no fit state to become law. If I’m elected Prime Minister I will ensure the bill doesn’t overreach. We should not be legislating for hurt feelings.

🚨 The ‘Online Safety Act’ makes it an offence to say something that is false which causes “non-trivial psychological harm”. Platforms would also be forced to proactively censor the speech. The Tories deserve their extinction and Reform will restore free speech.
This is a deliberately reductive perspective. The word “Islamophobia” has been designed to obfuscate the issue. The problem is not “Muslims”, it is radical Islam and Islamist political ideology. Do you believe THOSE beliefs are compatible with British values, @zoesqwilliams?
