Monday Rewind! Dylan Raiola is better than a Tier 4 talent, IMO. But he has his bulletin board material now. Nebraska does, too. Both sides took on risk 18 months ago. Time to reap the rewards of it. omaha.com/sports/huskers…
Cool praise from PJ Fleck on Matt Rhule's approach to program-building: omaha.com/sports/huskers…
When Luke Fickell said "This isn't the Big Ten West anymore," he's right. 2024 is proof. Last year, former Big Ten West teams finished 8-16 against former Big Ten East teams and 3-8 against the four West Coast newcomers. That cumulative 11-24 record — a 31.4% win rate — is…
Badgers coach Luke Fickell: "Wisconsin will continue to be a traditional program." Says UW will be a program that recruits HS kids above all. He said "traditional" many times.
NW coach David Braun announces Jack Lausch, the starting QB last year, has left the program to focus on his better sport, baseball. Frankly, that's good news for Braun and NW. The position's just too important, at this point, for a two-sport guy who doesn't have Russell Wilson…
Minnesota coach PJ Fleck: "It’s a great time in college to like cars." Well, yes it is.

Good poll from Jon. What say you Jay fans?
For something I’m writing: What are your expectations for Creighton through the final stages of the McDermott era?

In his custom suit and shoes, Dylan Raiola had a quick chat with Ryan Day and a long one with reporters. @Amie_Just looks at how QB1 handled the Big Ten Media Days blitz: omaha.com/sports/huskers…
He voted yes on a resolution asking for his voluntary resignation, then refused to resign, and then, well, a third-act twist. From @LunaMStephens: omaha.com/news/local/edu…

Matt Rhule got the Scott Frost/wrong job question. He didn't blow it off. Just the opposite. In fact, he might have made the statement 2025 is measured by: omaha.com/sports/huskers…
Smokin! Curt Cignetti had some zingers at Big Ten Media Days, starting with a line about the SEC: omaha.com/sports/huskers…
Rhule added: "I think it's a great job now." And he had plenty supporting evidence.
Asked about Scott Frost's comments at Big 12 media days, Rhule says he empathizes. Rhule didn't take the right job for him at Carolina, he said. "It was not a good job," Rhule says of NU. "But we've made it a good job."
Matt Rhule at the side podium says Nebraska did a full-season "Chasing 3" movie that didn't get released. "But it is amazing," Rhule says.
The quick report on Matt Rhule's big podium chat: omaha.com/sports/huskers…
Agreed. He did it without dinging any one unit too much either.
Matt Rhule gave an incredible and nuanced answer on the close losses (and special teams miscues) from last year. Too much for a singular tweet, but plenty to dissect.
Rhule on one-score losses: Says a team grows up and realizes it has control over close games, and lacks panic as a result. Says Iowa loss was "really painful" but it might be "a pain you need." Rhule said NU has an "excellent roster."
Rhule on Dylan Raiola: "He now embraces when he's frustrated. He now embraces when things go wrong...I think our team's gonna play for Dylan."
