this is like the antibiotic mantra. we all grew up with professors in neonatology doing chest x rays to newborns EVERY SINGLE DAY to estimate lung volumes. Another practice without evidence perpetuated for decades, yet colleagues question my #longcovid evidence😂

my previous point on #LongCovid & #MECFS is that there are many many (>50% states by literature) ppl w LC fulfilling MECFS, the rest is very eterogenous. For trials & biomarkers, I think it’s easier to have studies only focusing on post covid mecfs
the long covid community on X, or large part of it, is too aggressive to engage in healthy conversations. that’s why I moved away to try to be an advocate
for example this case of long covid is most probably mecfs, you can call both ways

My neighbor: stroke after his 2nd covid. Tons of vascular issues and under aticoagulants. He lost his speaking abilities but still goes to the gym. No PEM.
indeed your friend has a specific post covid complication and should not be classified as #longcovid and should never be enrolled in a trial for long covid patients

improving is very much possible. being fully cured is more difficult, but these gains do the hell if a difference for a family #longcovid #mecfs
