@stevenmwright.bsky.social Adoptive parent of two disabled children. Your one stop shop for SEND (Suffolk) ranting.
All existing SEND provision will be protected when we reform the system, @educationgovuk had told anxious parents. Only now.. it might not be - the provision must be 'effective' & who knows what that means? Important @theipaper @connie_dimsdale exclusive inews.co.uk/news/send-pare…
1/ @suffolkcc why are you still employing managers who think section F of an EHCP is the schools responsibility? lgo.org.uk/decisions/educ…
1/2 A note for @bphillipsonMP @CMcKinnellMP on this. For the past 10 years parents have seen support taken away from their children through the use of subtle and underhand language inews.co.uk/news/send-pare…

I don't know Julia, but as someone who has experienced being ignored by medical professionals on multiple occasions, until Daniel needed emergency surgery I've no reason to doubt her horrific experience, and that includes the bullying Lights need shining
There has been no response to my appeals asking for help to stop the @PHSO publishing their botched, inept investigation into the horrific aftermath of my son’s death. Please help me to react @wesstreeting and @Keir_Starmer. Please help people like me be heard. Thank you.…
I don’t see any children.
Another brilliant meeting on SEND, this time hearing from children themselves. Their voices will always be at the forefront of my mind as we work to improve the system. I look forward to continue working together to build a system where every child can achieve & thrive.
1/ After @suffolkcc decided to remove 95% of our section K (including things referred to in the EHCP) they've now amended it, chucked everything back in AND included working docs and tribunal orders from 2019, 2022, but NOT our most recent appeal in 2025 🤦🏼♀️

First @suffolkcc asked to postpone democracy (postponing the May elections) Now allegations of censoring the public. There needs to be a public investigation into this deeply concerning development.

Looking forward to reading the Birmingham SEND OFSTED inspection 2025 Report which concluded 27th June 2025. 14 days later the draft report was sent to BCC. They had 10 days to comment then the Final Report is published 5 days later. Tick tock 🕑🕘🕖 birmingham.gov.uk/blog/SENDinclu…
Forgotten your planner? Day in isolation. Why would any school do this? Because... if you don’t focus on small things, they spiral into big things. This... is broken windows theory. Here’s why it’s rubbish... 🗑️👇
The @CommonsEd about to hold session on school attendance where, says the committee, witnesses to be asked re unmet need among pupils with SEND, prevalence of mental health conditions, poverty, post-pandemic social attitudes. What about asking qs re what happens in schools?!
Please can you help me let @PHSO know that they must not publish their botched report and slit our throats again. Please help me to get a meeting with Paula Sussex. Senior staff have hid. @wesstreeting @Keir_Starmer @PHSO_theFACTS @PHSO @pollycurtis @katiewaissel24…
🧵 I had hoped to speak at Warwickshire County Council tomorrow in support of the Labour motion to keep children in care close to home (proposed by @Sarah_Y_Feeney). I submitted my request on Friday, but unfortunately it was declined.
BREAKING: Tom Hunt fired as MP by Tories. In totally unrelated news, Reform are currently preparing to unveil a new mystery MP for the party. One can only imagine who it could be! #ReformUK
Much of what's described here is also happening in mainstream schools. The difference is that MS kids are provided with even less support. In primary settings, around 97% of exclusions are for kids with SEND. This experience builds trauma, which so often erupts in secondary. ⬇️
And it's not hard to identify which trusts are overly punishing children, most will have high Fts rates & PA %. To pretend that some of these top Trusts aren't directly putting disadvantaged pupils at an increased risk of harm is to be complicit at this point. 1
