ARK is one of the early MATs which has only one member, the charity/company ABSOLUTE RETURN FOR KIDS (ARK). Sir Paul Marshall continues to be a director of ARK the charity along with three other directors. ARK the charity has power to remove all of ARK the MAT's directors.
Reminds me a little of the time when New Labour threatened to withhold National Challenge funding in Co Durham unless the Comprehensives in Consett and Stanley converted to academies. This isn't a comment on the pros/cons of the system, just the pressure involved to convert.

I remember this one. As someone who is profoundly deaf, I’m fortunate that my employer and the staff that represent it are genuinely inclusive. But in my lifetime, I’ve experienced so much prejudice, especially pre-legislation. It’s awful to see it still goes on
