Anchoring the Ankle 2.0 This thread discusses the first seven steps in sprinting, focusing on each step and what the research and best coaches are doing. Developing a stable plant without committing too much energy and time means you have to be wise about the big picture. 🧵
JAMAICA TO THE WORLD ‼️ The men's 100m in 2025 has 3 Jamaicans on top 👀 Who's stopping them at @WATokyo25? 1️⃣ Kishane Thompson 9.75 2️⃣ Bryan Levell 9.82 3️⃣ Oblique Seville 9.83 #WorldAthleticsChamps
Force trace from a 40 kg sled sprint on MONDO surface. Resistance fluctuates 0–70 kg due to friction and inertia. Highlights the difficulty of achieving consistent load in sled-based resisted sprinting. Never been a fan of sleds🤔
The resisted sprinting market is in a bubble and is about to burst next year. Since now the hardware options are hitting a saturation point, expect people to get back to simpler times when hill sprints and tires were options. The release harness market is making a comeback!
I regularly speak with experts like @spikesonly about best practices and various tools. Resisted sprints are all the rage. What are the best tools for you and do you have the coaching skills to optimize their use?
The results were actually determined with a photo-finish system operated by @seikowatches which provided a photo-finish for each side of the finish line.
It’s going to get funky soon… #MAKO
9.82s!!🤯🔥 Bryan Levell 🇯🇲 storms to a massive PB of 9.82s (1.3) over 100m at the Raiffeisen Austrian Open. Jamaican 🇯🇲 men so far in 2025: Kishane Thompson 9.75 Bryan Levell 9.82 Oblique Seville 9.83
The @RaesTake rumors are always spicy.
Welp. I like Noah for 🥇 in the 100m now. JamRock just got pushed down to bronze and silver. I ain’t EVER betting against @KenClarkSpeed ✅. Noah for 🥇 I’m on the ship now 😂✅🏁‼️

One of the few black boxes that has, for decades, seen a massive amount of success in swimming and sprint track and field when testing is done chronically. When the tests are sporadic, I don't see those trends at all.
vLamax: I took on the role of skeptical but constructive outsider on this excellent team as we tried to unpack the black box and explain both the opportunities and pitfalls of the construct and the method. I learned a lot and perhaps you will too: rdcu.be/exCmh

Good exercise. Consecutive hurdle jumps followed by consecutive broad jumps.
Common to dismiss HRV for being “too noisy” rather than considering and addressing: - excessive training - poorly managed life stress - dietary factors - hydration - inconsistent sleep schedule - low fitness - health conditions

RSI isn’t magic, and because it’s virtually impossible to cheat, is practical at all levels. A lot of sports technology companies are pushing some questionable metrics, likely in “science shaming” coaches with fuzzy math. Trust the timeless research…
There was a large (but non-sig) correlation btw RSI & Sprint-CT @ 20-30m (r = -0.584) Reactive strength is likely a key strength quality for mid-late phase sprint acceleration A reduction in Sprint-CT may be the mechanism by which RSI positively influences sprint performance
