This is a really important point. Nobody is saying come off the diet. I myself have been low-carb/keto since 2018. What most of us are advocating is that for those people who are on these diets and find benefit and also have these increases in LDLc/ApoB, do not assume that it is…
Some people need to stay on it for mental health. I recently saw the film, which will be out later this year.
I lost the count of how many posts I saw about the Keto-CTA study the last days. One issue that directly relates to the lack of association between ApoB/LDL-C and plaque progression that I haven't seen anyone talk about is collider bias👇
🚨FINALLY! The Lean Mass Hyper-Responder 1 Year Data Just Dropped!🚨 jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.… 🫀Most participants showed NO OR MINIMAL or progression of coronary plaque 🫀Neither ApoB nor LDL exposure predicted plaque progression 🫀But plaque predicted plaque progression,…

Great to see this call for action about clinical academic career crisis. ukri.org/news/report-ca…
Agree that it’s great to see this. Delivering 2.3 will be key. I don’t doubt the funders desire to see this happen. I worry about the reality of commitment from NHS. Colleges and particularly HEE, which seems to be intent on stifling excellence and academic aspiration
The deliverables:
Association of polygenic scores for neuropsychiatric traits with self-reported professions based on analysis of 420k individuals from UK Biobank and Million Veteran Program. Look at the 'arts & design' category. Artistic talent comes at a cost--a piece of your mind :) Voloudakis…
I highlighted my concerns about the industry last year in an email to the CEOs of the FCA and the CMA. My email was read over 1200 times in several countries but I never got a reply. Makes you wonder. Is PMI too important to be allowed to fail given the state of the NHS?
