I wonder if those of us who cannot think anything to do other than science, even when it can be painful (as well as giving moments of sheer elation) are in some way socially dysfunctional. I mean most of us scientists are certainly not normal people, of that I am convinced.

On World Cancer Day we welcome Dr Abdullah Malik to our liver cancer team. Abdullah, a talented surgeon who has won a prestigious Medical Research Council clinician scientist training fellowship will research the basis of cancer recurrence following surgical removal of a tumour.
I can’t reply to the post because I was blocked for raising questions, a red flag for sure. But @DIY_Tardis in answer to your question. Perhaps the very rich and famous supporters of these drugs will find a trial, if they have such faith in their potential. I won’t hold my breath
In addition to my brush with bowel cancer I also suffer pre-cancerous lesions on the skin around my eyes. So now have a new pair of wraparound prescription shades to offer a better degree of protection. Not sure if I look more like The Terminator or a character from The Matrix
