☠️ Last week I was on a walkabout and noticed some awful fly tipping on a key residential and business junction. 😱 We noticed that there was asbestos which poses a health risk. 💪🏽 We engaged the local councillor who had the area cleaned and asbestos removed. Reported. Sorted.
👣 On a walkabout we noticed flytipping ☠️ There was also asbestos waste fly tipped alongside industrial sized gas canisters ✏️ This has been reported as urgent to the local councillor who has requested it to be cleared immediately. UPDATE: This has been cleared 😎❤️
🚶🏽♂️ Today I was out on Holliday Road listening to residents and their key issues. ✍🏽 We discussed rubbish collections, planning applications and more! ⏭️ There were a number of issues I'll follow up on to help our community.

🗣️ Speaking to residents, many are annoyed at the lack of respect and care for our streets. ✋🏼 We have therefore organised a community litter pick on South Road at 10am on Sunday 3 August. 🚯 Please join us to be a part of the movement for safer, cleaner and greener streets!

🚗 Parking by schools can be inconsiderate and dangerous. ❌ Double yellow lines don't stop people. We need more enforcement. ⛓️ It's important to see enforcement for cars like this parked on double yellow lines and was also found to have no insurance by a school entrance!

🏚️ A planning application for an 'aparthotel' - 21 people in a terrace building next to schools and places of worship. 👎🏼 We did a petition and saw communities do not want it there. ⏰ We are waiting for the outcome of the application. I will update you as soon as I know.
Don't let people tell you that politics doesn't change things. That's over 700 families with a roof over their heads, children with safety and security. I've met them, I know it makes a difference. And there are thousands more to come.

🛻 This massive skip was on the road overflowing for months. ❌ Speaking to local residents we all found it unacceptable and a disgusting blight on our community. 🔗 I engaged my local MP Shabana Mahmood who helped to get it cleared! 💪🏽 Now the skip has finally gone...

RIP Peter Phillips (1939 - 2025), pioneering Pop artist from Birmingham. Although he left for London's Royal College of Art, he assimilated imagery from his hometown's car industry into dynamic, collage-like paintings. As he told me, "Art schools in Birmingham gave me my start."

Birmingham must shout out about its red brick terracotta style builds. Our heritage and culture is just as important as our growth. Plans with funding is coming together to bring back our highly popular interactive digital map of the city. Photos courtesy @Daniel_Sturley
after pushing and prodding, the garage got served with a notice, with @BhamCityCouncil, trading standards and police seizing these cars clearing the pavement. common sense prevails.
Question: can a garage park its half destroyed and dangerous cars on the public pavement? They are there constantly and block the pavement between multiple schools, homes, workplaces and a tram stop. Absolutely horrible. What can be done?
