Hi Tom, Im a trans athlete, had reassignment surgery 10+ years, HRT 15+, I am still a bio M, no amount of hormones & cosmetics can alter my M puberty advantages nor change my biology to F & allow level competition. That's reality. That's factual. That's rational. That's the way👍
I agree. Biological men should be barred from women's sports. Some trans women, on the other hand - those who have sufficiently changed their biology- should be assessed on a case by case basis. That's individualism. That's compassion. That's pragmatism. That's the way forward.

In the UK, trans people are banned from participating in Football, Cricket, Netball, Rowing, Athletics, Cycling, Swimming, Rugby (Union and League), Cue Sports & Hockey, & you want to ban them from a non-competitive, community running event? This is about erasure, not fairness.

I asked the Government how it is ensuring UK law stays aligned with our human rights obligations under the ECHR, especially when it comes to equality and protections for trans people. Legal clarity is essential and we must ensure that rights are upheld for everyone.

We must rebuild consensus on trans rights. There was a time (2017) when a Conservative PM committed to reforming the Gender Recognition Act and making the process of self certification better. These plans were dropped and it remains a protracted, complex and intrusive process.
Khelif is undoubtedly M & a sex test swab will prove that. However, the test will be administered by Algerian boxing, the likelihood of it being accurate could be doubtful & the legitimacy will be questioned if it comes back with a F marker, deliberate tampering is a possibility
New: Imane Khelif has been banned from boxing in Eindhoven next week. The Algerian will have to undergo sex testing to have any chance of competing. In a major development, World Boxing is to make such tests mandatory across all its events.
