Could be just a momentary blip but things seem to be slowly waking in the deep tropics. Interesting timeframe around 8/3 - 8/5 as a wave nears the Caribbean. If a low develops far enough NE there, or N of PR, it could avoid higher shear in the Caribbean Sea
Late night jockeying last night for midnight flights getting to Bradley with a runway down. This one circled over at about 2500’ which never happens here, this far from Windsor Locks. Some interesting flight patterns for the next few months.

The Pool Barometer. A useful tool for weather folk for a big-picture feel. High pool temp of 89° during the big heat wave a ways back, but in general has been tough to get over 84°. Today 7/23(!) it is 73°. Hogwash. The cold is winning, in the background.
Last night, we got to view the #NorthernLights. However, their peak intensity didn't last very long, transitioning from bright, moving pillars (first pic) to a dulling glow by the time we snapped the group shot by the summit sign, some 10 minutes later. #NHwx #NH #nightsky
