“June saw my Private Members’ Bill pass through the House of Commons. I’m incredibly grateful for the support I have received from so many people. The Bill now progresses to the House of Lords for further debate.” @kimleadbeater dewsburyreporter.co.uk/news/opinion/c…
Talking about his past year as an MP, @JeevunSandher says he is proudest of helping to organise Labour support for the assisted dying legislation theguardian.com/politics/2025/…
Another British Isles parliament progressing choice at the end of life, underpinned by a truly people-powered movement. Proud Jerriais Alain du Chemin, who had terminal brain cancer, sadly didn't live to see the change he fought for. But his legacy lives on through this Bill ❤️
Jersey's draft assisted dying law will be published in September and face months of political scrutiny before a final vote in December. itv.com/news/channel/2…
“And this is how I’d like to recommend we have the ageing and death talk. Introduced carefully, in small chunks, in age-appropriate ways.” Discuss and plan ahead for how you want to die. Great common sense advice 🙌 theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
On assisted dying Dr Hilary Jones says “For me, it should be about removing horrible suffering in the last few days of someone’s life,” @DrHilaryJones inews.co.uk/inews-lifestyl…
We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Emma Bray. Emma was diagnosed with MND in 2023 and recently made the decision to stop eating and drinking, rather than suffer through the final stages of the disease. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
This is the whole point. It's about giving people choice! This is why I back #AssistedDying. Because should I ever find myself in such a position (and I pray I don't, of course) I would want the option to die with dignity!
“My personal feelings are that I may or may not want to access assisted dying when the time comes and things get worse, but I want that option there as a choice and for me, assisted dying would be my safety net." inews.co.uk/news/dying-peo…
Jersey has announced its assisted dying Bill will be presented in early September, with a final vote on 9 December. Liam McArthur’s Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill will return to Holyrood in Autumn. Change is coming across the British Isles #yestodignity
Lord Falconer has been confirmed as the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill’s sponsor in the Lords, and the next stage is Second Reading, which will be on Friday 12 September
"As debate continues in Parliament and beyond, one thing is clear: the question of how we die is no longer being whispered in the shadows. It’s now front and centre in the public conversation—and legislation is catching up." crispng.com/everything-you…

So pleased to see this. A campaign that the @GMB_union in East Mids alongside @LeeBarronMP led on for years.
No one battling terminal illness should have to face extra stress and worry over their job security. It's vital that employees with a terminal diagnosis are treated sensitively and with the best support – that’s why I’m so proud we are backing this charter. #DyingToWork
A huge moment today for those who believe in greater choice at the end of life. For more than three years, @Daily_Express has shared the heartbreaking stories of campaigners fighting to change the law. #GiveUsOurLastRights
Remembering Professor Sir COLIN BLAKEMORE the eminent neuroscientist, #humanist campaigner and former president of the @MNDAssoc who, by a cruel twist of fate, lost his life to motor neuron disease three years ago today, eighteen months after diagnosis.... #MND #MoreNeedsDoing!

What a quick turnaround from @hannagsslr at the @Daily_Express: from being asked for a quote to publication within an hour! And just so well written as always! express.co.uk/news/politics/…
This is an odd attack on the decision of the House of Commons when it follows the example of a dozen US states that have legislated to permit assisted dying for terminally ill adults, beginning with Oregon almost three decades ago. #YesToDignity
As the UK Parliament considers support for state-subsidized suicide, euphemistically called a bill for “Terminally Ill Adults,” the United States reaffirms the sanctity of life. The western world should stand for life, vitality and hope over surrender and death.
Keir Starmer has insisted the government is prepared to deliver assisted dying legislation “in all its aspects” theguardian.com/society/2025/j…
