We believe in choice at the end of life. Including the option of #AssistedDying for terminally ill, mentally competent adults. #YesToDignity
BREAKING: MPs back assisted dying Bill at Third Reading. ▶️ For: 314 ▶️ Against: 291 This is a landmark moment for choice, compassion and dignity at the end of life. #YesToDignity

“It was a good death. I’ll defend his right to do it – and my helping him – until the end.” Barbara's husband Adrian had an assisted death. Every dying person should have the choice of a death as calm as Adrian’s. But no one should have to travel hundreds of miles to do so.
“We really should be listening to the people who are actually affected by the law.” Maddie would take comfort from having the choice of assisted dying in the last few months of her life. No one should be able to deny her this choice. #YesToDignity
The blanket ban of assisted dying fails dying people. They need choice at the end of life . To grant them that, the House of Lords must follow the Commons and back change. #YesToDignity

James' mum spent her life savings, and in agonising pain, travelled alone to Dignitas to protect her family from the risk of prosecution. She did all of this simply to have a dignified end to her life. We cannot continue outsourcing our compassion to Switzerland.
Dying people are at the heart of this debate. The House of Commons has listened, now the Lords must act to allow people the choice not to suffer.

"Control, dignity and choice." Anil's father took his own life while suffering from a terminal illness. It's not what he would have wished for, but felt he had no other choice. #YesToDignity
Our country has never been closer to meaningful change. More than 300 million people worldwide already have access to choice at the end of life. The momentum is undeniable. #YesToDignity

For some, the ban on assisted dying has a devasting impact. No one should have to discover the body of their terminally ill wife, only to be treated like a criminal. But that's what happened to Peter. The law must change .
On assisted dying Dr Hilary Jones says “For me, it should be about removing horrible suffering in the last few days of someone’s life,” @DrHilaryJones inews.co.uk/inews-lifestyl…
Susan’s daughter Fiona ‘suffered an agonising and prolonged death.’ An assisted dying law would have allowed her to die peacefully, surrounded by the people she loved. 'We are only prolonging death, not life.'
James' mum spent £15,000, travelled hundreds of miles and died alone. All because our outdated laws forbid true choice at the end of life. "I am so proud of the strength she showed, but I have to live with the regret of not being with her for her final days." This can't go on.
We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Emma Bray. Emma was diagnosed with MND in 2023 and recently made the decision to stop eating and drinking, rather than suffer through the final stages of the disease. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
