A great extension of the Cas13 toolkit for transcriptome engineering
Our RNA operating system “CREST” led by @liu_zukai is now online. CREST enables multitasking RNA-level operations in parallel to DNA OS Casilio. #CRISPR #RNA #transcriptome #technology #genome academic.oup.com/nar/article/do…
An Phd opportunity in our lab (puji.zju.edu.cn) this fall is available though a joint program between University of Macau and Zhejiang University without a requirement for master degree. We welcome people of any age and any nationality. Please contact me ASAP.
Thank you University of Rochester and Zhejiang University (ZJU) for making our Young Investigator Symposium on RNA Biology a success with 24 speakers & 173 attendees. Congrats to Li Yanqiang, Song Jinghui, and Fang Junnan on winning Travel Awards to visit ZJU RNA Center at Yiwu!

This is the schedule for the upcoming Young Investigator Symposium on RNA Biology (RNAYouth.com). With 120 registers from all over the world, women contribute to 46% of the talks. We have two career sections for job hunting in China and in US respectively. Join us now.

Our upcoming Young Investigator Symposium on RNA Biology this Friday and Saturday has an impressive list of 24 speakers who are postdoc and research faculty. Zoom Webinar link is only available after registration. For schedule, please visit: RNAYouth.com @tweet

The 2023 Young Investigator Symposium on RNA Biology will be held virtually. An impressive list of speakers has been confirmed. Additional abstracts are accepted and announced on a rolling basis (apply by March 20th). Visit us on RNAYouth.com

A symposium on RNA biology is dedicated to our under-appreciated Postdoc and Research-track faculty organized by the RNA Medicine Center of Zhejiang University in Yiwu, China and the UR Center for RNA Biology. The deadline is March 20th. Hope to See you in Rochester or Virtually.

Today I introduced a bill to ban all messenger ribonucleic acid technology (mRNA) in the State of Idaho, and we passed the Freedom in Education Savings Account out of the Senate Education Committee to fund students and not systems, putting families in control over their ed $.
A paper took the entire pandemics to write, revealing the forces driving the most rapidly evolving genome region, pachytene piRNA loci. The ~1% of pachytene piRNAs targeting active TEs are essential. Still puzzling: are the rest piRNAs just passengers?nature.com/articles/s4146…
IYKYK 👀 Human egg cells are the largest cells in the body, but are microscopic. #Sperm cells? Even smaller. Despite their size, sperm are powerful enough to melt the surface of the female egg by releasing enzymes from a portion of the head known as the acrosome.
I know it well and experienced a lot of it growing up. But frankly this is worse than almost anything that happened on the playground
For the record, the chancellor was NOT attempting to speak an actual language. It was his racist, made-up approximation of an Asian language. Think "ching chong."

At international mRNA health conference, so glad to see Melissa, who arouse my interest on mRNA during my postdoc training.

I have long been fascinated by how cells faithfully decode the tiny bit of genetic information from a genome containing mostly noncoding sequences. Excited to share a new preprint led by talented students @JordanKesner1 @da1111110 & Alexis Aparicio biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
We indeed now surprising little about EVs in testis. Good pioneer work. The repertoire of testicular extracellular vesicles cargoes and their involvement in inter-compartmental communication required for spermatogenesis biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Now tRNA is the new fashion.
I’m very excited to be part of this new company!
Amazing conference. Will try to come in person next year.
Around 850 participants are taking part in the 9th #mRNAHealthConference. This number represents the highest participant attendance in the event’s history, which was initiated 9 years ago by @CureVacRNA and its co-founder @IngmarHoerr. Thanks for your interest & participation!
Choose someone you want to become as you will inevitably pick up some characters from your mentor.
Doing a PhD is - at heart - one long discussion with your mentor. The discussion changes over time - with unexpected turns and ups & downs - but through it all is a pair of people discussing a topic endlessly to make sense of it. PhD students: choose someone you like to talk to!
