Reminder: Field drug tests are "preclusive," not "inclusive." They were made for the purpose of precluding the existence of a drug, and are absurdly unreliable to show the existence of a drug. That's why all drug cases require a real lab analysis for prosecution.
Public defender arrested for bringing in "THC soaked papers" after K-9 dog alerts at Rikers. Jail guard union announces huge victory. Total bullshit, not an ounce of THC on the papers. Not the first time I've seen a jail falsely accuse a PD or investigator.
This is a big win for the defense and a testament to the importance of jury trials. The Mann Act counts don’t require force or coercion - it appears the jury flatly rejected that theory.
