A few traits of a person with pretty high chances of success at a startup: - They are resourceful - They like it if you give them a problem, not a list of tasks - The vagueness of problem doesn’t stop them from jumping right into it. They will ask clarification questions and…
an intern worked at my tiny startup - Ticketping. Inspired by this, one of his tasks is to post a blog about everything he learnt and worked on, showcase it to the world and wear it like a badge of honour in the next internship
not only would I hire them, I actively invest behind the scenes in how people communicate and show the work they do at vercel. It's basically the complete opposite of apple's secrecy culture, i want people to know who built what and feel pride over their work.
Having a hobby side-project that you're just building for yourself is a great motivator in life. It's a proxy to upskilling. You learn anything that's needed to make it work.
this is how you lose trust, don't pull such stunts for engagement

This guy DMed on reddit saying he found a huge vulnerability and expected bounty. I asked him to email and this is what they sent lol

The true unlock is connecting the real builders, engineers, and designers of your products, directly with your audience. Authentic, no loss of technical fidelity, customer-centric. Feedback flows faster, fixes go out faster, trust builds. x.com/rauchg/status/…

I’ll probably get a lot if hate for this but this is exactly why I don’t use projects built by indies for work. If this is how they manage code, I can’t imagine how bad the security would be. Also, the trolls/fanboys came after that guy who gave a good suggestion. Indies have…

The kind of products I like to stand behind. The ones that focus on staying for long. Not chasing hyper growth by burning stash.

Vibe coding a feature to 80% is easy. It's the last 20% of polishing the UX that takes real effort and love for the craft.

Next gen of startups will have super lean teams. Heck some might even be solo/duos. Like Bezos coined the term “two-pizza teams” - we’ll have “two-pizza startups” now.
Honestly, I feel sad for people who deliberately choose not to have kids, especially because they think it’ll ruin their lives. It’s incredibly hard but it’s also by far the most incredible life experience. Nothing comes close to raising your own kids and watching them turn into…
I can’t fathom that people apply to literally thousands of job applications. Here’s what I’d do if I were him. Shortlist the startups I find interesting. Research their product. Prepare a short document on how I can add value to their product. Move one of their metrics.…

It's crazy how @expo's eas cli has made app deployments so smooth. Such a complicated process otherwise.
When I was an intern (10 years ago), @vivekprakash said timezones were the hardest part of dev. And then someone joked wait until we’ve support Mars lol
dont build scheduling in any normal application 1+1=2 but with timezones, some months 1+1=2 and sometimes its 3 in India you have to 0:30 offset so sometimes its 2.5 timezones change super frequently, not only DTS now multiply this with multiple attendees 🤯
