Calvinists, Would you agree that IF #CALVINISM IS FALSE that it has been divisive and harmful to the Church? Why or why not?
Apparently God is not powerful enough or smart enough to allow humans free choice
If God doesn’t cause the thing he knew to happen, then there’s a will acting outside and above God’s will. If that’s the case, then God isn’t sovereign. And if He isn’t sovereign, then He isn’t God.
Jesus warned against attributing evil to the Holy Spirit. “Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin.” —Mark 3:29 (because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”) Jesus was healing and casting out demons by the…
Yes... That's why I was showing that you are incorrect. The fact is though, Calvinists will do both, even though they logically can't. You can't say both that God is simply allowing sin and ALSO that God determines and decrees all things. Those two things aren't possible.
Who is ultimately responsible for meeting that condition, @WesleyLHuff? Does God cause (by means of an effectual grace) the elect ones to meet that condition, while the rest are born by sovereign decree incapable? Or are all given that responsibility by God, whereby anyone and…
Jesus loves you as you are but too much to leave you where you are. In this sense the Christian message and call is unconditional, all are invited, but it isn’t unconditioned, the only cost is your entire life.
Tell you what… If you believe that God “permitting” you to sin = He “brought it to pass” Tell Him that next time you confess your sins to Him. May He correct you severely.
I have disrespect for any theology that teaches a character of God that is inconsistent with scripture. I feel the same way about prosperity teaching, gay-affirming teaching, and any false teaching that puts an unnecessary stumbling block in front of people. However, I will…
So the choices are: a: agree with my interpretation or b: you don't believe the bible? SMH
I am not making a assertion God is making a statement. Its on you to believe Gods word or not
This is news to me....... did the Gnostics actually have it right? @The_Idol_Killer
Gnostics teach free will
I asked for the verse that says "God is sovereign". I did not deny God is Sovereign. SMH
Amen. 🙏 We have a whole army of up to 347.5 online Provisionalists now who fight against God’s sovereignty. It’s like a tent revival. We are growing and bringing our own increase!
IC: All you guys do is bash Calvinism ME: Projection much?
🚨 Provisionist Shell Game: How They Twist Acts 16:30–31 🚨 📖 The jailer asks, “What must I do to be saved?” Paul replies, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” Provisionists love this verse—but here’s how they twist it. 👉 Scripture speaks of salvation in 3…
«What then? Shall we try to put another meaning into the text than that which it fairly bears? I trow not. You must, most of you, be acquainted with the general method in which our older Calvinistic friends deal with this text. "All men," say they,—"that is, some men": as if the…
To those who feel pain and loss on Father’s Day because they had an unkind dad or maybe didn’t grow up with a dad at all—a reminder that there is a perfect Father in Heaven who loves you and will protect you and bring only what is good for you into your life if you follow Him.
If you have the freedom to hold widespread "no kings" protests across the country, your government does not have a king
Why is this so hard for them? God saves. The new birth, the sonship, COMPLETELY comes from God. But God has CHOSEN to give this gift of new birth and sonship to EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES. We aren’t saving ourselves we are simply surrendering and trusting in the One who saves.
Calvin wrote: “By predestination we mean the eternal decree of God, by which he determined with himself whatever he wished to happen with regard to every man. All are not created on equal terms, but some are preordained to eternal life, others to eternal damnation; and,…
IC : "God made me do it" is not what we believe. AI: The Westminster Confession of Faith (Chapter 3.1) puts it like this: "God from all eternity did... freely and unchangeably ordain whatsoever comes to pass." That could lead someone to quip, "God made me do it"
Just as God chose Isaac (the son of promise, not of the flesh), Jacob over Esau (the second, not first born) God also chooses those who believe (not based on works or genealogy) to be saved. Romans 9:30-33 sums it up. Choosing "who will believe" is never found in scripture.
