First bird of my day: the peeping heads and bright eyes of sparrow babes, looking out of the swift brick on to a blue sky day. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours
What about scrutiny from environmental regulators? Will the runoff from the highway cause pollution? Is their proposed treatment scheme designed properly? Is their groundwater risk assessment accurate? Are there protected habitats downstream?
Whether there is scrutiny or not from the environmental regulators seems entirely hypothetical because they do not have the funding to do the job. It's getting to the point where they might as well be scrapped altogether, eh @DanielZeichner? unearthed.greenpeace.org/2025/07/24/env…
Rotunda Museum Scarborough: The circular building which opened in 1829 was one of the first purpose built museums in the world and was designed to show off it’s prize collection of geological exhibits. Visiting in 1839

The sounds continue on NBS Radio 📻 🎶 and do you ever feel like running for home? Even though you may have a wonderful new home. Sometimes the home we once knew of old just felt safer. A home in a world now long gone. 1978, Lindisfarne, Run for Home. 🙏❤️ youtu.be/y0JwlTtOYGg?si…
Day 6 LOOK at a swift up close & swooning is a given. Those liquid, liquorice, polished planet eyes. The feathered brow, like a cave, & the protective bristles. Look at the top of Boudica’s head - at the white scalloped feathers that look like a beach when the tide is out.
Stag had been going through a lot. Each day, he drew strength from something as simple as a breath. As he faced the morning, he’d wrap himself in gentle mist, pause, and inhale the cool, earthy air. Moments like this - gentle, quiet and still - he could rediscover his strength.
I attended a cross-party catch up with the campaign team to establish Magor’s walk up train station. Progress is slow with governments of Wales & Westminster which is frustrating given the relatively low cost of the project & the need to alleviate local traffic.

There's a fun eel mention in Henry IV, when Falstaff slags young Hal's aggressively slight stature: “’Sblood, you starveling, you eel-skin, you dried neat’s tongue, you bull’s pizzle, you stockfish!” ‘Cause that’s how you speak truth to skinny power, damn it. 1/4
The way yimbys treat affordable housing is all the proof you need that they don’t really care about making housing affordable. It’s never been about house prices.
Affordable housing requirements are like a gateway drug for left-NIMBYISM. You think you're just having a quick puff on the "we need more units at X% below market rate" pipe, but soon after you're injecting "supply can't solve the housing crisis" directly into your eyeballs.

Stopped to see who the little bird was. Think it a young thrush. It’s quite safe with those awful fence leftovers around. Then it is all about G!! #morningwalk
