More great feedback for my novel, Team Of One, the person having read the article in The Psychologist: 'I’ve just bought and read, Team of One on this recommendation. Could barely put it down over 48 hrs. Thank you Penny Priest.' bps.org.uk/psychologist/i…

Somebody's probably already said this but: Juniper Song, aka June Hayward, did not write The Last Front. I did. She stole my book, stole my voice, and stole my words. #SaveAthena @kuangrf I'm enjoying it a lot, anyway...
Happy World Book Day! Please consider reading my debut novel Team Of One! midpsy.uk/2024/12/27/tea…
Interesting exposé of the cult of meditation and it's relationship with psychological wellbeing. My book, Team Of One, shows similar contradictions with Zen Psyonics. midpsy.uk/2024/12/27/tea…
Winn could have written a fictionalised account. That's what I did with my story about mental healthcare in the NHS. Though most of it was true. midpsy.uk/2024/12/27/tea… bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
Nice advice from @jayvanbavel: Social media...'think of it like deciding to follow a healthier, less processed diet.' theguardian.com/books/2025/jul…

This week's free-to-read essay is already proving controversial. In it, I critique fashionable but bad ideas from Eastern spirituality and accuse Buddhists of being "utterly and incurably self-obsessed and self-interested." Link below!
GP Amir Khan: "These are human beings, they're not economic units.. yes we do need to help some people back to work, but pointing the finger at the sick to help the economy I don't think is the right approach" Well said doctor #GMB
I am so glad that POTS is trending! #POTS is late diagnosed, if ever. Folk with POTS are often made to feel like they are weak, attention-seeking and hysterical - far from it. I call on professionals to know more about POTS and recognise the iatrogenic harm so many experience.
At the age of 55, I learned two new words today. Jejune and ludic.
I reviewed Harriet Armstrong's fierce and tender tale of first love, To Rest Our Minds and Bodies, in today's @GuardianBooks @LesFugitives theguardian.com/books/2025/jul…
I agree with every word of this. Steve Coogan accuses Labour of paving way for Reform UK theguardian.com/culture/2025/j…
'Human experience is fundamentally social...Instead of focusing soley on internal dynamics, we should also consider social processes and material resources. Instead of emphasising unhelpful habits of thought and behaviour, we should emphasise the cirumstances that forged them'.
Absolutely brilliant teaching and conversation about how to get your message out! open.substack.com/pub/graceblake…
Good question. It's a shame they're not voting on a wealth tax, or the excess profits of corporate greed.
The review will be concluded by autumn 2026. @AndyMcDonaldMP asks the very reasonable question: 'what are we supposed to be voting on tonight?'
The true measure of a society is how it treats its most vulnerable. Aside from the economic and procedural arguments (of which there are many) it just isn’t morally right to push hundreds of thousands of disabled people into poverty. The cuts must be scrapped. My speech 👇
"Disabled people are not a burden on society, they are part of society," @iqbalmohamedMP This desperately needed saying today. 👏👏👏 "What consultation can happen, when the bill is being pushed through within a week, with those most affected?" #TakingThePIP
Exactly. It's all about power and interest. midpsy.uk
“If we can afford not to have a wealth tax, not to equalise capital gains, or draw on the excess profits of corporate greed; then we can afford PIP for a disabled person.” Labour MP Rachael Maskell gave a passionate and emotive speech at the welfare bill debate in commons this…
I am going into the Commons Chamber to speak against & vote against the Government’s appalling Bill to cut disability benefits. I urge all Labour MPs to do so. I was elected to protect disabled people not harm them.
Thank goodness some are getting the essential message out there. “Made worse by the cost of living crisis, poverty has played a part in driving record demand for stretched mental health services, particularly among children and young people.” theguardian.com/society/2025/j…
