Not only are PWD employees restricted to 17 hours a week or else their working for free, even if we qualify for the benefit technically, we dont get it for the same reason we are capped no matter how hard we try to better ourselves, meanwhile MLAs got a raise and earn 172k salary

the governments systemic rejections of applications for disability benefit amounts is criminal . the qualification is based on the need to employee more government AT A HUGE COST TO THE TAX PAYERS THE GOVERNMENT DESIGNED THE SYSTEM TO BENEFIT THEMSELVES

Nothing says disability pride month like rolling out a federal Canada Disability Benefit in which the UN CRPD called woefully inadequate with unequal access. Or blatantly ignoring the UN CRPD's calls to repeal the entire MAID Track 2, as well as hault future expansion talks.

Most disabled people don’t claim disability benefits… Many of those would be eligible, but they either choose not to, or are alienated from the process by how horrific it is. People vastly overestimate how many claim, how we are deemed eligible, and how much we get.

The pettiness of both Liberals and Conservatives toward eachother about leaving disabled people in legislated destitution shows that both sides know the issue exists, but neither side will actually do anything about it. This isn't the win you think it is @tylermeredith.

HOW do you justify this post?! How does one manifest self-care * while "supported" at < 50% + of the poverty line? * while penalized financially based on relationship status to include spouses, partners and dependants? * while disqualified from benefits based on age?

Today is a mile stone b-day for me. I turn 65. It's my last ODSP birthday. I move onto OAS. We can't afford to celebrate but I am with family & I did get some flowers. That makes me happy.
