I find this so exhausting. @MTA has been complaining about fare evasion — a real issue — for 5+ years. Meanwhile in that same timeframe, @SFBART and others have simply tested and bought better turnstiles.
Fare evasion robs the @MTA of $700 million every single year. We're making sure everyone pays their fair share. amny.com/opinion/we-mus…
This is such a bad take. I was born in NYC, but just because I won the sperm lottery doesn’t mean I have a monopoly on good ideas. We should listen to all constituents regardless of where they were born rather than veer into ugly nativism.
Transplants who just arrived in New York don't have the right to insist we redesign our entire city according to their agenda just because they hate people who own cars. Sorry we're not Barcelona or Amsterdam. Go be a transplant there if it's so great. I said what I said.
Surprised to see @NYC_DOT not including any bike facilities in this capital buildout.

Anyone know about this project? I can't find much online about it.
BIG: I secured the largest single federal grant for bike infrastructure in NYC history. It'll link greenways on the West and East Side of Manhattan in Inwood. Thanks to @RepEspaillat, @NYC_DOT, @ydanis, and activists—cyclists will be able to ride around the entire island.
This is such an unserious take for an NYC CM to make. Citibike is closing in on 200k daily rides — competitive with highways like the FDR Drive — all while using virtually no taxpayer funds and obviously requiring a fraction of the space.
How about we just get rid of CitiBike entirely. Seems like a much better plan.
The First Avenue Express Bike Lane is live just in time for UN General Assembly! What a joy to breeze uptown with no lights or intersections from 40th Street all the way to 49th Street! Thanks @NYC_DOT @cbsix @vinbarone @MarkLevineNYC #bikenyc #UNGA

Why is this not a protected lane?

What we’ve lost in NYC
What a downgrade for Beija-Flor, the excellent Brazilian restaurant in Dutch Kills. Their pretty outdoor dining structure is now gone, just so two people can park their cars in front. No more live music outside, I guess, either. Conservative NIMBYs just hate this city.
NYC desperately needs to reform @NYCDDC so it can produce high quality public spaces like this on a reasonable timeline.
Very impressed with the streets of Montreal. 1/New attractively designed curb less shared streets are in many places and more under construction.
The best time to build the 34th Street Transitway was 14 years ago, but the second best time is today 😄 nyc.gov/html/brt/downl…
Let me tell you about The Interval - my favorite bar / coffee shop / library in SF
So, I guess these aren't happening? The first was supposed to take place today.
We’re hosting six webinars in June all about congestion pricing! Along with a Q&A, we'll go over: - How the Congestion Relief Zone works - Program benefits - Discounts + exemptions - What you need to know before tolling begins on June 30 Register now: new.mta.info/article/sign-c…
We're only a few weeks out from congestion pricing going live in NYC, and as far as I'm aware @MTA hasn't released mocks of what the signage will look like for it. At this point, @TfL had provided example signage with the now famous (C) logo.
Quietly powerful move by @NYC_DOT to increase the width of crosstown protected bike lanes. Could go a long way towards making these lanes safer and more comfortable!
