Ex Director of Legislative Affairs No10. Focus on parliament and Westminster. Think before you legislate! My postings on this site are my own personal views.
Conservatives will deport any asylum seeker who commits a crime. No ifs, no buts. I was speaking to LBC in Hillingdon today, where the council is £17m in the red thanks to Labour’s fast-track asylum mess. Epping’s locals have a right to voice their concerns about hotels being…
Three Epping residents. All of them thoughtful and articulate. Plainly not 'far right'. When folk such as this, in a usually sedate English market town, are getting angry, trouble is brewing.
Some people have made mean comments about this guy, but I’d happily go for a pint with him . Good personality, willing to engage, nothing nasty or anti-British in what he said. I hope he ignores the trolls.
'What do you think are British values?' @StevenEdginton finds out from South London locals what it means to be British.
This is quite funny! The agony for Adrian on how to answer honestly.
'You can't even bring yourself to say that you like Zack Polanski?' @IainDale has to coax @AdrianRamsay into admitting he likes his Green Party colleague and leadership opponent.
Odd that @Ipsos_in_the_UK reframed mid May data on visibility of Shadow Cabinet - excluding Kemi - as "49% don't recall seeing anything from *them* recently" in a July tweet. Both the reframing and "recently" are rather questionable. Valid points can be made but play it straight
As Badenoch reshuffles her shadow cabinet, our data shows they have a big visibility problem: 🔵49% don’t recall seeing anything from them recently 🔵Jenrick, Patel & Stride have made the biggest (but limited) impression 🔵 5% or fewer recall anything about each of the rest
It’s so weird to me that the wealth tax has become an article of faith - an end in itself. The consequences are irrelevant. Questioning the impact on growth is a sign of weakness. Oddest religion ever. They don’t even have good tunes.
Fuck off dan. Eat the rich
Are you really comparing local residents who are concerned about the likely issues with housing hundreds of male asylum seekers near schools and housing estates to nazis and fascists? Tower Hamlets Labour Party is an absolute joke no wonder why it’s still in special measures.

"Lots of housing". The casual indifference. The prioritisation. If you want to pour fuel on the flames, this is how you do it. Watch Meg Hillier's face when he says it!
There are 1.3 million people on social housing waiting lists in England alone. But Keir Starmer believes there’s ‘lots of housing’ spare we should be giving to illegal migrants That’s madness. What is he going on about?

A month on from the Commons vote on assisted suicide, it’s clear that quite a few MPs were confused about the bill or influenced by misinformation. Here are 10 examples:
Important 🧵. The country would be lost without our SMEs, but small business owners are exhausted. Granting unions physical and digital access to every SME including pubs, cafes, garages, family shops isn't proportionate. On Monday the Lords can ask the govt to think again - to…
Unlike big corporates or public bodies - SMEs don’t have HR Directors/teams, or in-house legal employment experts to handle complex industrial relations with trade unions So we need some sensible lawmaking in Parliament, tomorrow A 🧵 on amending the #EmploymentRightsBill👇 1/
Fully support these pragmatic amendments to the employment rights Bill - consultation and impact assessments matter

Well what an incredible morning this is going to be. Labour govt trumpeting a long list of stuff they claim they've done to deal with the water industry. Tories say they just nicked their old policies, thing is the Tories are right. Example. 1. All sewage overflows to have…
A year in and this is the Govt weekend grid story for the Sun? My goodness they do need that new Director of Comms!
EXCL: Government will stop using wax seals on official documents. Seals were first used by Kings 1,000 years ago and have been used by the Govt for 150 years. It will be scrapped as part of red tape slashing drive to speed up govt for taxpayers Fab story by @SophiaSleigh
Making beef wellington for my husband. It’s been a long time since I did it last but wow the mushroom duxelle smells amazing.
Average of eight 'family members'. One as high as 22. No need to actually be family. Tell me again that the judiciary are simply interpreting existing law, in a way that the people who wrote it would have in any way recognised.
Business owners: literally just trying to stay open Starmer: Have you tried… more tax?
