What separates democratic socialism, social democracy, and communism from one another? A great deal. This is my stab at putting together a very basic typology of different kinds of socialisms. left-notes.com/p/a-typology-o…
This is basically right for the immediate, you have to take everybody who finally found their humanity in with gritted teeth to stop this. But if it ever actually stops, do not forget and do not let them squirm away.
Tweeting "I told you so" at people who change their mind about what's happening in Gaza does nothing to help the kids who are being starved to death. Welcome people into the tent. Build a bigger coalition and use it to force political change.
We are proud to announce DSA member @RepRashida will be the keynote speaker at the 2025 DSA National Convention!
14 words and the capitalized Hs aren't accidental, these are intentional nazi signals and not the first

"We don't need socialism. We need public-private partnerships." After Mamdani's primary victory in New York, establishment Democrats are already copying his signature videos. Zeteo produced our own (fake) centrist Democrat featuring Zeteo senior producer @heycappello.
The genocide of the people of Gaza continues as members of congress vote to fund Israel’s defensive and offensive military capabilities. This is immoral and no amount of excuses will ever make it ok.
Hundreds of Israelis are now marching in the center of Tel Aviv against the starvation of Gaza at the hands of the Israeli government. Some are holding sacks of flour.
Zohran Mamdani won Hakeem Jeffries' congressional district with 46% in the first round, and 52% in the final round of RCV.
The DSA Italian caucus's moment to shine has come.
It’s the 1921 Italian anti-fascist Arditi del Popolo flag held by Mamdani supporters versus the Israeli flag and Curtis Sliwa campaign posters held by people pissed that Mamdani flipped off the Colombus statue in 2020.
This man has the claim to one of the hardest pictures ever taken. He is going to win.
I am incredibly honored to be the DFL endorsed candidate for Minneapolis Mayor. This endorsement is a message that Minneapolis residents are done with broken promises, vetoes, and politics as usual. It’s a mandate to build a city that works for all of us. fatehformayor.com/donate
Ill leave it to others to argue about strategy but there is no debate on merits: the Iron Dome is a genocide impunity machine and the representatives who voted to cut off support for it were correct to do so.
🪑Organizing meetings aren’t glamorous (often the opposite). But behind the daily routines of meetings, one-on-one conversations, and follow ups, there is a real joy in having a say in decisions that impact your life. Pull up a chair. socialistcall.com/2025/07/18/why…
If providing defensive weapons in no way confers support for an offensive campaign (which you call a genocide) then does this mean you would vote in favor of an iron dome for Iran or Russia? If the goal is abstract protection of civilians regardless of context?
Wrote about some of the Palestine resos at Convention; especially excited about Labor for An Arms Embargo!!
🇵🇸 DSA’s strategic orientation to the fight for Palestinian liberation is one of the most important questions at this year’s Convention. Boston B&R member Nick L. outlines his analysis of the Palestine Solidarity resolutions on the agenda. socialistcall.com/2025/07/17/end…
Last weekend, we joined @nycDSA's volunteer appreciation day to celebrate the thousands of members—old and new—who knocked on doors, made phone calls, and organized day after day for our victory in the primary. Onward to November and beyond.
This is a good essay, providing a nice clean breakdown of the distinctions that are often run together by talk of "reform vs. revolution," and crisply explaining how all this maps onto the tangled history of labels like "communism" and "social democracy."

Happy to see how successful the DSA Democracy Commission was. I wasn't part of it since convention, but proud to have contributed thru drafting the resolution. It's a model for what can be done when we purposefully create cross-caucus projects & take time to deliberate together.
DemComm is one of the most successful cross caucus collaborations in DSA. I’d strongly urge delegates to not let the package be split up and debated like this, it is a package built off intentional compromises and splitting it into individual threads threatens the spirit of it.
Enacting proportional representation in the UK is now a matter of basic survival for all establishment political parties. Will they do the right, rational, and self-interested thing?...
