Still jacking now
The best thing about the Talyllyn's adaptation of "Sir Handel" are the funny bits from the human characters. More than humor, these moments, which are portrayed by real people, add a level of relatability and humanity to the story- something you don't see in most Thomas media.
release the footage of the 'illustration' ... - the shot *justttt* cuts as we're walking to the front - what ensued was Neil and I tweaking the frig out ahahahah
I didn't actually get a lot of photos it turns out - but I did catch @nattles124 crashing out at Sir Handel.
Absolutely fantastic. Well done to everyone who has made this possible. @nattles124
What was one of those 'wouldn't it be nices' suddenly came into being across a couple of days in June. The day was not 'misty', nor were the rails 'slippery', but it was fantastic display of comradery, determination and fun. One for the CV! Come and support this at 6pm BST!
TONIGHT at 6pm BST - The classic story from 'Four Little Engines' as you've NEVER seen it before! 'Sir Handel' presented in LIVE ACTION with narration by the Rev. W. Awdry himself, filmed at the Talyllyn Railway - where it all really happened. youtube.com/watch?v=3Z0hAb…
While this may be the last Extravaganza for a while, it is by no means the end of our connection with that mythical island off the north west coast of England - for those links are stronger than ever! The Organisers. 📸 Nathan Spence
Most of all, thank you to the one and only Reverend Wilbert Awdry for he has brought us all together through a common love.
To our amazing volunteers out on the trains, adorned in purple, in the blockposts, selling tickets and to the staff in the cafés and office - thank you for all of your hard work, we literally cannot do this without you!
Dear Friends, This past weekend has been something rather special indeed. From all of us at the Talyllyn Railway we cannot thank you enough for coming to the Awdry Extravaganza 2025 - so many have travelled so very far to visit our little railway and we are so very grateful.
I was determined to get this recreation to happen the second a steam roller was announced. I didn't expect quite the crowd, though I suppose a great big roller chuntering about would turn a head.. or hundred!
"You're Sir Handel I suppose" #AwdryEx5
Surprise!! It was a pleasure to be asked to come and play a miserable driver!! Absolutely stellar day and an incredible vision led by Dan and Luke. So much fun.
OH MY GOD
And that’s a wrap. The last train has just arrived back at Wharf and the photo charter has finished off the event. A phenomenal effort to pull off an event of such a scale. Thank you.

Organised ‘The Grand Finale’ - what on earth is my lifeeeee 😵💫

A heavy load on the hook this morning. One trip wonder shovelling 7 on its absolute limit !! A good learning experience, a lot of coal!

To the gentleman called James who complimented me for my music and my pictures, thank you kindly mate. It was an honour to sign your book! Saturday on Wharf Bridge!
