#OnThisDay 25 July 1914, a massive procession of the East Belfast UVF takes place in the City. Over 3000 Volunteers from the East Belfast Regiment's 6 Battalions plus YCV and USSF Battalions took part, each fully armed. Two Colt machine guns and a maxim gun accompanied the men.
PSNI confirms Portrush parade was peaceful, with 12,000 spectators and no incidents linked to the event, while TUV Chairman & Causeway Cllr Allister Kyle condemned what he described as “an enormous amount of misinformation” in media coverage. loveballymena.online/post/tuv-s-kyl…
Powerful and moving song confronting the Legacy of Joe Cahill and the absurdity of honouring him through Gaelic competitions. Must listen.
A fitting tribute from the club tonight to our ex player Gary Stewart. A large crowd of family, friends, ex team mates from our club and other clubs Gary played for. It showed how much he was loved by many. We hope tonight give the family some comfort. We will never forget you 💔
The GAA plays all sweetness and light in unionist areas with @EastBelfastGAA Then where republicans dominate you get blood and soil no compromise rhetoric from the GAA Riding two horses! Pick a lane and stop gaslighting unionists

Who came up with the idea of the Joe Cahill tournament for kids? They are primary school children ffs. Imagine the Johnny Adair soccer school for kids. Who would take their children to that? I f*cking wouldn’t. Yous aren’t right in the head.
Challenging the sanitisation and glorification of IRA terrorist Joe Cahill on Talkback. Cahill wasn’t a role model for our next generation. He neither repented for his crimes nor shied away from his belief that the murder of civilians was necessary in the IRA’s sectarian death…
If any friends, ex team mates etc would like to come down tonight please do 💔❤️🖤
Belfast Telegraph's editor-in-chief is Eoin Brannigan. He also oversees the Sunday Life newspaper. He was appointed to the role in 2020, joining from the Irish Daily Star based in Dublin, where he had been editor.
It appears the Belfast Telegraph may have entirely lost the plot in the last couple of weeks. The editor needs to get a grip on his staff. Very poor couple of weeks of journalism
GAA President Jarlath Burns paying tribute to a former IRA leader Seán Treacy. All week, Unionists have been lambasted for suggesting that the GAA has a political dimension and contains aspects that are problematic and hinder their involvement. These concerns are valid.

GAA President honours another IRA terrorist who gunned down RIC Officers in the street. GAA, a sport for all?

The last couple of weeks have exposed the extent of the media’s built-in bias against anything Unionist or Loyalist in Northern Ireland. The reactions from so-called “moderates” have hit peak hysteria, with even the most liberal people I know starting to question the behaviour.
I'm wondering if it's just jealousy with Republicans... That they know there's not a snowballs chance in hell they could pull off this kind of discipline, style, dedication, pride and camaraderie on the roads of Tyrone, Derry and West Belfast. They simply wouldn't be up to it.
I agree with @ryanpaulwarren here. I see myself as a balanced, reasoned, moderate loyalist. But this continuous onslaught on my community, my friends, my background has really pushed me this year. So much so I've decided to re-engage politically. This cannot go unchallenged.
I’m pretty easy going, but the constant media attacks on Unionist and Loyalist culture are exhausting. Traditions, identity and history get mocked or vilified while others are carefully avoided. I understand why many people out there are fed up and fighting back.
