The most pro-Union Labour govt since the 70s are currently telling binmen in Birmingham to suck up and £8000 pay cut and encouraging Doctors to scab and cross picket lines. These people genuinely cannot fathom why people won't vote Labour, can they?
I preferred Corbyn over Johnson actually. Not by much but I did. But the only reason this new party has been formed is to sabotage is the most pro union Labour government since the 1970s.
"Left wing parties will let in Reform!" is simply not going to work coming from people who've been losing to Reform all by themselves for several months.

Labour Party traditionally tolerated people like Corbyn and Sultana because it was oligarchy's key method of absorbing, then neutralising, a genuinely liberatory left They did it so exactly this kind of left party wouldn't happen. Starmer's authoritarianism has messed it all up
And no, they're probably not ~300k Third Period Stalinists, but ordinary people with nowhere else to turn, and who have spent the last five years being told their perfectly reasonable beliefs are a kind of unspeakable monstrosity (and often told that by *real* monsters.)
Even if you – like Starmer or McSweeney - think the left should be shut up in a sealed tomb, you should recognise that a strategy of extirpation rather than containment has (eventually!) had unwelcome consequences.
Lots of self-flattering Labour sneers about the New Left Party. But hundreds of thousands of people expressing interest should tell you: (a) there's something very broken in the structure of electoral politics, (b) you've failed in fixing or representing that discontent.

If Labour doesn't want to split the vote and let in Reform, they need to stand down in seats like Holborn and St Pancras where polling suggests the left has a greater chance of winning.
