Thank you to everyone who came along tonight to cheer me on as I take up the role of Lord Mayor of Belfast. I am honestly so honoured to have been given this opportunity to represent our great city. I won’t let you down.

WHY did the Belfast city SF and DUP Cllrs take the decision to write to the DEARA minister @AndrewMuirNI asking him to withdraw the consultation on the Nitrates Action Plan. Do they not care about Lough Neagh and clean drinking water for Belfast?

Delighted that it looks as though the Executive will agree the bid for £5m I submitted to assist the PSNI with the costs of the past week's unrest. It’s a good start but long-term investment is required.

I'm just so ashamed of what I have seen happen in the streets of a country that I love and I'm sorry that people are being put through this. I want to see justice done and I will work with the PSNI and others to ensure those vulnerable are protected.
