There are no words that can truly capture the heartbreak of the tragedy in Maguiresbridge. The loss of a Vanessa Whyte, and her two young children James and Sara, in such horrific circumstances is unimaginable. My thoughts are with their loved ones, and with the entire…
My thoughts and sympathies are with those affected in Maguiresbridge following this morning’s horrific incident. Can I please ask people don’t speculate, online or elsewhere, as to the details surrounding it while it is being investigated.
Justice Minister @naomi_long speaking on @BBCgmu this morning talked about meeting probation staff & the incredible work undertaken by PBNI to challenge & change people’s attitudes, to rehabilitate people & stop them reoffending. Read more about our role 👇
Justice Minister Naomi Long has today (July 22) published a public consultation as the Department of Justice continues efforts to protect the public from growing issues relating to the use of deepfake technology. The Minister said: “I am proposing to criminalise the increasingly…
The weaponisation of deepfake images to humiliate, abuse, and traumatise others cannot be tolerated here as much as anywhere else in the UK, says @naomi_long. We're working to close the gap in legislation and make it a criminal offence in Northern Ireland.
Good to see this being consulted on by @Justice_NI @naomi_long - here is how to give your views. Public urged to have their say over sexually explicit deepfake images belfastlive.co.uk/news/northern-…
❗️🗣NEW: "Deepfakes humiliate, distress, and cause anxiety... the images are so realistic, and it adds to the trauma." ⚖️✅️Justice Minister @naomi_long speaking after launching a consultation on proposals to criminalise the creation and sharing of sexually explicit deepfake…
🚨🗣NEW: 'That deepfake nearly ruined my life... there are people out there today who still think that video is me.' 🎥🎤Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 speaking to @SDLPlive MLA @CaraHunterMLA in Coleraine today. ⚖️This comes as Justice Minister @naomi_long launches a public…
Advances in technology & AI have led to a massive increase in image-based sexual abuse and the impact on victims is devastating. That's why I'm taking steps to criminalise sexually explicit deepfakes. Read my proposals here: justice-ni.gov.uk/consultations/…

This is shocking and I hope the person injured makes a full recovery. However, this bonfire madness needs to stop. We can't ignore people being injured or dying as a result of these pyres. There has to be some regulation or control. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-…
What a day @royalportrush for #TheOpenChampionship! 🌞😎 Congratulations to #ScottieScheffler on a superb performance: commiserations to our @McIlroyRory. Superb to see the North Coast in all its glory. Thanks to all who made the event such an incredible success. @TheOpen

Congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on an incredible victory at The Open! ⛳️🏆 A truly world-class performance from a worthy Champion Golfer of the Year. It’s been fantastic to see The Open return to Royal Portrush, showcasing the very best of the North Coast to a global…
@moneillsf @pengelly @mikenesbittni @naomi_long @explainedsnow To go to a GP with symptoms that may mean #OvarianCancer we must know them Going late▶️worse outcomes We have lowest awareness here in these islands We need a strong public awareness campaign 200 women p.a.😩
Presenting with 👇symptoms, GPs must presume it’s #OvarianCancer. Otherwise it can have much worse consequences for a woman (mother/wife/earner/carer) than other potential causes Doctors please, please “rule #OvarianCancer in until you rule it out” by a CT scan #MyJulieRIP END
Fantastic news that the UK Government will now extend voting rights to 16 and 17-year-olds. 🗳️ Now it's time to ensure these changes will apply to the 2027 Assembly elections. 🏛️ Help us make it happen and join us today: allianceparty.org/become_a_member
Fantastic that @cricketireland has stepped up like. Shocking that they had to offer an alternative due to the prejudice of adults. Children from @EastBelfastGAA just want to enjoy sport and have fun. Shame on those who would stand in their, or any child's, way.

Absolutely no excuse for this sectarian attack. Shameful. If the last few months have taught us anything at all, it's that we urgently need to invest more time and energy in community relations. The level of hate in our community is just unacceptable. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-…
Great advice I’m sure you will also feel empathy for women diagnosed late with #OvarianCancer partly as the “sneaky” symptoms are the least well known here versus GB&I & want to raise awareness of them Early diagnosis improves outcomes significantly Pls RT🙏🏻👍 #MyJulieRIP❤️
I’ve seen this too. Genuine advice for asbestos exposure: Don’t brush fibres off clothes, use a damp cloth to capture them. Cut clothes off and put in sealed plastic bag (with damp cloth) Do NOT take them off over your head. Contact council for advice on appropriate disposal.
Grim reading. I worked in X Ray, clerical in the RVH. Read too many notes of sufferers & symptoms. Heard a woman speak about the difficulty of even proving where she’d acquired it. The only explanation that she’d sat on her dads knee when he came home form work.
Thank you @irish_news for publishing our health advice ahead of the bonfire celebrations happening across Northern Ireland tonight and the weekend. irishnews.com/life/health/el…
