Planning is entirely separate to this- they still need to get permission for the rest of the site & it's up to us all to make sure that any new application is acceptable - & that includes keeping pressure on all political parties to not make the same mistake this time!
Love it 👌
😱 Imagine the shock of finding two Green Party councillors in Private Eye - yes, the magazine that loves to expose wrongdoing and scandal! Shocking stuff. 😱
Here’s one. Great atmosphere and amazing to see the street finally car free😍
I'm not saying it's perfect but thank you to whoever is approving good decisions at City Council

@SaveCQBelfast @BelfastCC Fantastic to see Hill Street turned into an arts market, and City Hall grounds used for a family friendly outdoor cinema. By far the busiest I’ve seen the city centre on a Sunday morning in ages, and it’s a lovely atmosphere 👏👏 More of this please 👍

This is just the end of the beginning. ✊️
A message to all Belfast City Councillors. Hopefully BCC acquires the Assembly Rooms in next few months, but don't pat yourselves on the back, thinking job done. This is only the end of the beginning. We still have more to do in delivering a city centre people will be proud of.
The Cathedral Quarter (CQ) BID, in partnership with Urban Events NI, has announced the launch of the first CQ Sunday Art Market, taking place every Sunday from 10am – 3pm on Hill Street, Belfast, starting Sunday 27 July, and running for the next 10 weeks. nitravelnews.com/news/cathedral…

Listed building fire being treated as arson. Hope they've better luck catching the culprit or culprits than they've had with North Street Arcade in Belfast

Still plenty more to do. This is only the end of the beginning.
At last some movement…and much needed too. Devastating to see the building fall into such disrepair over the past few years. Let’s hope the council deliver 🙏
🚨In what will hopefully be a turning point in the whole sorry Castlebrooke saga, the Council has today officially agreed to make them an offer to buy the Assembly Rooms.🚨 Thank you to @ainegroogan and @Briansmyth99 for their heroic work on this. limerickleader.ie/news/northern-…

In a much needed bit of good news for Belfast, @belfastcc has agreed to move forward to purchase the Assembly Rooms! Bringing this historic & culturally significant building back into public ownership is a landmark move & I'm excited to see what the next chapter holds for it!
