There is nothing an ER colleague can't handover to me. An LP, an intubation - nothing is too much. My colleague worked hard and did their best. I take immediate ownership and create the least amount of pain. I listen, jot notes and respect that my colleague is done. @CAEP_Docs

Who are the health authorities answerable to? The clear answer is "nobody." There's no excuse for this, to say nothing of the overall ER disaster. Acute care in BC costs ~$15B. There's one reason that ER staffing has consistently been a problem: it's not a priority.
