"High speed rail enables stations on the Conventional Rail Network to get a more frequent service." The Steer report, sat on by DfT for 2 years, shows the opening of #HS1 had **virtually no effect** on frequency of stopping trains on the CRN. #HS2
In the report there's no detail on who these manufacturers are but in tbe past this sort of lobbying inludes those who have financial vested interests.

As @rorysutherland says, instead of building high speed rail they should put great WiFi on the trains and hire the worlds best looking models to serve us champagne and we’d all wish the trains went slower.

This @greensignallers video uses HS2 Ltd video and talking points to claim #HS2 means "far more local and regional services". This is misinformation. This **cannot happen**, and needless to say, there is no sign of extra CRN trains being ordered to run these "far more" services.

Prior to giving HS2 civils contracts "Notice to Proceed" it was supposed to need to pass 6 "gateways" with the intention of assuring a target price. Somehow it was allowed to circumvent them having stalled at the first one. NAO were told there were 3 "review" points.
