Past lives @NOTUSreports @nationaljournal @npr @usatodayDC @sacbee_news
Some very big life news: This is my last week at NOTUS and my last week on the Hill. I'm joining the Peace Corps and moving to Zambia to teach English! Can't even begin to say how grateful I am to my colleagues, my sources and everyone else I've met over the last few years.
Another time when it’s clear just how significant @DaveMcCormickPA’s win last year has been to shaping what does and doesn’t get through in the Senate:
.@RonJohnsonWI is a no on the motion to proceed. Senate GOP will likely need Vance to break 50-50 tie
I wrote about what it was like growing up as a child in the Bosnian civil war, where food was extremely scarce. I didn't have much, but at least UNICEF was there to help keep me alive. Congress just defunded it, putting lives at risk around the world. huffpost.com/entry/trump-cu…
Mr. Secretary: Eric Garcia, an #ActuallyAutistic journalist. I have an explanation. Initially, I couldn't get an autism diagnosis in 1994, when Asperger's Syndrome entered the DSM. It took around 4 years for me to get a diagnosis. Science got better. harpercollins.com/products/were-…
In 1970, Autism was rare: fewer than 1 in 10,000 children. Today, it’s 1 in every 31. We owe it to our children to find out why.
You actually can! @BenMause and @KV_Swartz wrote about how the Freedom Caucus went from ousting John Boehner to constantly caving to Trump. notus.org/congress/house…
Would read several thousand words on how the HFC went from killing McCarthy's speakership to this in less than 2 years
.@RepBrendanBoyle shared his feelings about @SenFettermanPA's "beach" comments during a @BulwarkOnline interview. "If you are here, you are damned lucky and you're privileged to be here. You should want to be here, and if you don’t want to be here, leave.”
So about Rep. Mark Green's sudden decision to resign from Congress... It all sounds super sketchy — a business opportunity in Guyana? — and he's been using his office to score meetings with potential investors. Lots of strange stuff in here: notus.org/congress/super…
New: Mark Green has been pitching people on a foreign business venture in Guyana and has even tried to connect with potential investors. Sources say he doesn’t go in depth about the venture He was in Guyana yesterday when he announced his resignation notus.org/congress/super…
📺: @kv_swartz joined @jaketapper to discuss her NOTUS reporting on how health concerns may affect a Congressman’s reelection bid.
I’ll be making my CNN debut in a few minutes to talk with @jaketapper about House primary challenges and my reporting on Rep. Dwight Evans. Tune in! notus.org/2026-election/…
And that’s a wrap on my fellowship with @NOTUSreports and my time reporting on Congress. It’s been the time of my life. Thankful for the memories!

House moderates have some "deep concerns" on provisions in the reconciliation bill they voted for. They want the Senate to address them. One final story for @NOTUSreports, with @reesejgorman notus.org/congress/moder…
This provision was just unveiled as part of the Senate reconciliation bill. $325 million to fund NASA's 'Deorbit Vehicle.' What company is making that? SpaceX and Elon Musk. (The contract has a value of $843 million.)
Thanedar told me and @kv_swartz he’d “love to see a bipartisan coalition forming around impeaching the president” after Musk’s comments. “I usually don't have much to agree with Elon Musk,” he said. “But certainly on two things: I agree the so-called Big Beautiful Bill must be…
Oof, Musk aligning with the likes of Shri Thanedar and Al Green in calling for Trump's impeachment
Rep. Shri Thenadar responds to Elon Musk’s call to impeach Trump: “Well, I usually don't have much to agree with Elon Musk,” he said. “I would love to see a bipartisan coalition forming around impeaching the president.”
