Oregon - there is no difference between a tariff and a Gross Receipts Tax. Both are transaction taxes. If you oppose tarrifs, we should move quickly to eliminate the Portland and Statewide Gross Receipts Taxes.

Politics: The art of convincing you that tariffs are paid by consumers, not businesses, while also convincing you that businesses pay the corporate income tax, not consumers. You have to really dial back logic and reasoning to believe both are true at the same time.

Tweeting about ‘billionaires’ is a sure sign that someone is trying to manipulate you. It’s a form of control. There is no billionaire tax that balances the budget, just a poll tested tagline. It would be nice if the Democrats had something better to communicate.
