Big day for the Northside! We’re moving forward with the Upper Harbor amphitheater—an 8,000-person venue run by @FirstAvenue and the Minnesota Orchestra. It’ll host 50 events a year, with a portion of every ticket sold reinvested right back into the community.
sic semper erat, et sic semper erit
We’ll be working on improvements for future conventions.
The stadium seating model of housing: - rich fans move in and want more VIP skyboxes - NIMBYs block it: "skyboxes are not affordable" - rich fans instead get lower-bowl seats - this pushes middle-income fans to the bleachers - now low-income fans can't afford any seats 1/
Target workers’ return to office should be positive both for Minneapolis and the company’s performance. Since COVID work from home, its stock is down 15% while its peers (who have long since called workers back) in the Dow Jones Retail Index are up 76.7%. startribune.com/target-return-…

We are all coming out of a heartbreaking and devastating weekend of political violence here in Minnesota. I wanted to start a conversation with you about where we as a state and nation can go from here. Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were incredible friends,…
If you cheered the MN DFL killings, you're a problem If you cheered the killing of Israeli embassy workers or UHC CEO, you're a problem Any politician justifying, joking, or subtly promoting this stuff needs be removed from office. We must vote out these people from civic life
This is how police should deal with speech and protest and how speakers and protestors should deal with police.
You stayed classy, San Diego. Thank you to the thousands who demonstrated peacefully today. No arrests, and no incidents. #SanDiegoStrong #OneTeamOneMission
This is the way, Minnesota. This violence is not who we are, and small acts of compassion and solidarity may help to pull us back together.
Like many of you, all I want to do tonight is help someone—lend a hand, offer a hug, remind them they're not alone. We honor the victims by showing up for each other. Minnesotans are strongest when we lead with compassion and commit to being better, together.
I’m filled with so much sadness & anger after the political violence in Minnesota. It is incumbent on all of us to scale back political vitriol and hyperbole that radicalizes people. Prayers for the Hortman family & for a speedy recovery for Sen. Hoffman & his wife. Devastating.
Exciting news from @AssociatedBank on our continued, major investments in Downtown Minneapolis, reflecting our continued confidence in city and metro area. bizjournals.com/twincities/new…
Housing opponents, like this lady, often say they’d be fine with new developments if they were 100% affordable. They never explain who they think will pay for that.

I was reliably told that foreign countries pay these tariffs. Never, ever a US citizen or American company. I’m shocked!

So-called “Inclusionary Zoning”—the practice of requiring homebuilders to rent some percentage of new apartments at a loss—is bad policy that lets elected Democrats pretend to care about poor people while NIMBYing new housing and worsening the housing shortage and raising rents.
.@CityPortland’s 2024 Housing Report confirms what many feared: raising IZ from 10% to 25% in 2021 didn’t spark affordability — it torched production. From 900+ units in 2021 to barely a trickle since. Inclusionary zoning with exclusionary results.
This game will always have a warm spot in my heart… my oldest son’s first Vikings game. Half time pic and end of game pic.
It’s been two and a half years and I still can’t believe a single part of this game was real.
This from Noecker is absolutely right, "We’re in a situation where we need to send a strong, clear message to the market that St. Paul is open to development."
Rent control in St. Paul will likely be scratched today for any building built after 2004. Council Members Nelsie Yang and HwaJeong Kim plan some last-minute amendments to salvage what they can of it. Council President Rebecca Noecker isn’t having it. twincities.com/2025/05/06/as-…
This is just Soviet command economy BS. “I’m sorry your household already has its allotted 5 pencils. You are not permitted any more!”
Trump: "I don't think a beautiful baby girl that's 11 years old needs to have 30 dolls. I think they can have three dolls or four dolls ... they don't need to have 250 pencils. They can have five."
This is what is truly wild about looking at trade deficits the way they are traditionally calculated. Financial services provided overseas? Intellectual property exported? Technology and data services? Nope. None of it counts. Just shoes.
There is nothing dumber than judging a countries exports/trade deficit based solely on goods. How can you not count services? Could you imagine if any Wall Street firm went around and told clients and investors that Amazon is a low growth & low profit margin business because…
