I've been told that people in BC who have experienced being incarcerated & also experienced being in involuntary mental health units prefer the conditions of the former. Legal advocates say the same. This is consistent with my own experience. Doesn't this seem like a problem?

It is simply misinformation to claim that people can get disability benefits just by “self identifying as disabled” You need evidence, prolonged and often from multiple specialties, and to go through comprehensive assessments. You can’t just say “I’m disabled” and get everything
