Proud Canadian. 18th Premier of Alberta. Former Canadian Minister of Defence; Employment & Social Devt; Immigration; & Multiculturalism.
Deeply honoured to be have inducted into the Kanai Chieftanship as an Honourary Chief of the Blood Nation of the Blackfoot Confederacy. A truly meaningful recognition of the work I did with First Nations to create economic opportunity in the spirit of “reconciliaction!”

The public opinion for this unscientific tanker ban has shifted. Of course we need emergency and oil spill world class response available. But we know how to move oil safely. Pointing to the Exxon Valdez disaster is like pointing to Chernobyl as a reason not to pursue nuclear.
Opinion: To preserve B.C.’s beautiful North Coast, we must maintain the oil tanker ban theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…
I met American firefighters up north who came to help - and they had nothing but praise for Manitoba. To those in U.S. Congress trying to score points off our wildfire crisis: now’s not the time. People are grieving. Communities still at risk. Let’s focus on helping.
I almost died by suicide fifteen years ago while battling depression. If the expansion of MAID coming into force in 2027 were in place then, I'd likely be dead right now. Today, I'm launching the #IGotBetter campaign to keep hope alive for people living with mental illness.
For those in denial about the growing wave of antisemitism: see this vile, explicit Jew hatred on full display. This is a podcast with 1.5 million subscribers. The "influencer" cackling at the defence of Hitler, the Holocaust, and the call for Jews to be killed is Myron Gaines,…
“What if the Jews did something to the Germans”, “Hitler was trying to save the world”, “How do we take [the Jews] down?”, “Genocide.” This isn’t 1940s Germany — it’s a 2025 podcast. Suzette, a recent culinary high school grad from south Florida goes full Nazi and Pompano-based…

They aren't even hiding it anymore. NASDAQ futures start *aggressively* selling off at 7:52 PM (green circle) for no reason whatsoever. Trump announces tariffs on Canada, Europe, and the rest of the world at 8:06 PM (blue circle). NASDAQ bottoms *4 minutes* later at 8:10 PM…
The "allied nation" part is important. Procurement focussed solely on cost ignores the risks and geopolitical externalities of dealing with hostile regimes. Eg: what happens if, half way through the contract, the PRC invades Taiwan? Do we keep paying? Are the ferries delivered?…
NEW - @PierrePoilievre says Ottawa must cancel the $1-billion loan to @BCFerries to build new ships in China, and work with BC gov to cancel the actual contract and find a Canadian or allied nation shipbuilding alternative.
Truly saddened by the death of my friend, the Honourable Jake Epp. Jake was one of the finest public servants I have ever known. A man of unimpeachable integrity, depth of conviction, and vibrant faith. My condolences to his family and loved ones. Eternal rest grant unto him,…

In the Anglosphere, our systems only consider the downside of action, not the downside of inaction, which incentivizes doing nothing.
In 1937, London built 80,000 homes. Last year, it built less than half that. To find out why, I looked at two different planning applications for a four-storey block of flats from now and back then. 1937: 3 pages long. 2025: 1,250 pages long.
Nothing screams July 4th like platforming the leader of a terror state that labels us “The Great Satan.”

It turns out when the mob chants "death to the IDF," it isn't about "deconstructing the military machine" or whatever, but about setting fire to a synagogue. Act shocked. -- Israeli restaurant attacked, synagogue torched within minutes of each other in Melbourne…
Having hosted Holocaust deniers, Hitler fanboys, and the murderous dictator Vladimir Putin, Tucker is now keen to present the views of the theocracy whose explicit goal is “death to America, death to Israel.” This isn’t journalism or intellectual curiosity. It’s the dark end…

Cold deaths outweigh heat deaths nine-to-one, and higher temperatures are currently reducing total temperature-related deaths. That the media writes nine-to-one in favor of heat deaths distorts our understanding and promotes ineffective climate policies. nypost.com/2025/07/04/opi…
It’s very simple: no Macdonald, no Canada. No federal board has the right to cancel the first Prime Minister of our country. Sir John A. Macdonald deserves to be clearly recognized for his role in the foundation of the wonderful country we get to call home.

I'm proud to walk in those footsteps "Three centuries thereafter, I take passage overland In the footsteps of brave Kelso, where his sea of flowers began Watching cities rise before me, then behind me sink again This tardiest explorer, driving hard across the plain" -Stan Rogers
What Ukraine's air defence faced last night -- more than 500 air targets! If it were any other country -- actions, headlines, outrage. For russia's war against Ukraine? Just another weekend under fire. "More sanctions in two weeks."
Pope Leo XIV holding back the tears, as he hears the Our Father chanted beautifully in Ukrainian, by the faithful of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church on pilgrimage in St. Peter’s Basilica for this Jubilee Holy Year.
