biological essentialism and postmodern identitarianism (particularly when applied to the question of women’s oppression) are only superficially "juxtaposed", in reality they are the twin faces of a warped bourgeois ideology which undermines a materialist analysis of patriarchy.
my family friends 85 year old mother was abused and strangled by her grandson. he killed her dog and cat, and absolutely destroyed her home, phone, and car. please if yall could help out, even a little, or help rt her gofundme :( gofund.me/e366cb6c
1. Surrogacy, regardless of who’s behind it—gay or straight—is fundamentally flawed. It’s unjust for (typically wealthy) individuals to turn (usually poor) women’s bodies into commodities, renting them out like kitchen gadgets. Buying a human life is wrong. And it’s heartbreaking…
Centering male affection by describing the socialisation process in wich men learn to be emotional abusive towards women by performing masculinity is diabolical. But of course male feminists would like a definition of patriarchy that portrays them as victims as well.
bell hooks: "The first act of violence that patriarchy demands of males is not violence toward women. Instead patriarchy demands of all males that they engage in acts of psychic self-mutilation, that they kill off the emotional parts of themselves. 1/2
Say this to any woman and they’ll dismember you
being a woman must be so cool man
Afghan brave female journalist Fawzia Wahdat confronts Taliban reps in Berlin: “If you have a conscience, come out and answer us! You killed our women, our fathers and brothers. You stole our rights. You have no respect for democracy. How dare you speak in a democratic country?”
Research on pornography overwhelmingly shows a relationship between pornography and rape myth acceptance, sexual aggression, and actual perpetration of sexual violence. Denial that pornography is harmful is like climate change denial: brazen lies backed by billionaires.
what's crazy about the new draconian UK-Euro age restrictions is that there's no sane argument for the underlying premise that minors shouldn't be allowed access to pornography. the only people saying its harmful are conservatives talking out their ass, it's totally unevidenced
Like we always say : there are no safeguards for children born via surrogacy. ANYONE can buy themselves a child. @CIAMS_Coalition
So it turns out one of the "Dads" in the gay couple adoptee video I posted is charged with child sex offences!.... Just wondering if online apologies are a thing on X?
Your uterus isn't committing "crimes" against you holy shit this framing of the female body being hostile against itself is deeply patriarchal and causes the kind of psychological distress that literally fries your immune responses
the idea that everyone that wants children are owed that is what fuels child exploitative and misogynistic industries like surrogacy and the adoption industry
🧵 On cases of porn leading children to commit sexual assault, including in the UK

Removing the uterus also damages the ovaries. This NEEDS to be more widely known! pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC99…
The fact that removing the uterus leads to a whole host of health issues invalidates this reductionist argument. Might aswell chop off your limbs too seeing as you can live and function in some capacity without them right?
I had the privilege of visiting the “Our War Too” exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum today. I took as many pictures as I could, but I was rushed through. I’ll post them later for those interested in the women of WWII ! 😊
"Taking rape from the realm of 'the sexual,' placing it in the realm of 'the violent,' allows one to be against it without raising any questions about the extent to which the institution of heterosexuality has defined force as a normal part of [sex]."
Once you understand that rape isn’t about sex but about power, domination, and control… it stops being baffling and starts being terrifying. It’s about making someone feel small, worthless, voiceless, breakable.
Actual Classical Greek degrees of misogyny in which any type of female anatomy is seen as an aberrant addition and hence completely dispensable for a “normal” body
Is it actually understood that women who don't want children still need their uterus? Is it actually understood that the uterus is part of the body, its system, its integrity? That the uterus isn't a resource, that it isn't like unmined lithium sitting in our abdomens?
They see women as gatekeepers who own a human factory and refuse to share it, they disassociate between the process of reproduction and the human doing it
Any part shared with the male anatomy is seen as standard and needed and the rest is seen as not a part of you but just something on your body like a parasite, works for the uterus and boobs which are also often talked about like an accessory
Women are terrified to publicly state their opposition to porn, but when asked anonymously, the answer is clear
Should dating apps require users to answer questions about whether they use porn and what they think of it?
