Raising awareness of Pans Pandas - brain inflammation triggered by a Virus or infection. B12 deficiency
Looking back I can see she had severe deficiency & until the B12 deficiency was addressed she needed to rest & listen to her body. I just wish the medics realised this during our 10 day stay. The talk of muscle wastage really concerns me, she was a competitive gymnast 🤷♀️…

Anyone noticed how many people are suffering from digestive issues, chest pain, arrhythmia and/or are generally feeling quite tired these days? People’s driving seems to be a bit crazy too. Quite a few are skipping red lights etc.
👏👏👏 Can your brain, spinal cord & CSF be B12 deficient while blood levels are normal? Could an antibody block B12 from getting to the central nervous system? Are pts w this being dismissed or dx'd w FND? Check out this thread at Thread Reader App. threadreaderapp.com/thread/1815439…
Meanwhile, I might add shingles to the list. A couple of pals have mysteriously started to experience this in the last year or so. I know plenty of people who’ve had pulmonary embolisms as well. And trust me, my social circle isn’t huge.
It's blowing my mind to see articles in July 2025 saying that people are now noticing that the nasty effects of Covid infections can come years later. 🙄
Sometimes the effects come days later. Sometimes the effects come weeks later. Sometimes the effects come months later. Sometimes they come years later.
Covid is doing terrible things to my daughter’s body; but what the system is doing to her is on par. #longcovidkids
A new discovery finds that neuroinflammation doesn't kill neurons; it impairs them. Here is how...🧵
If you have #LongCovid, please please try to get your bioavailable B12 levels and a full iron panel checked if possible. It is no fun to wake up & find out one day that your ferritin is in single digit while all along your doctor has been saying that your hemoglobin "is low but…
And find a B12 specialist to manage it-too few knowledgeable drs. Common in LC - I’ve thought of 7 ways so far by which covid is linked to or causes it. And it relies on sufficient iron and is co-dependent on folate; IMO it’s a B12/folate/ferritin dx x.com/linnjarte/stat…
B12 is misunderstood from start to finish. Symptoms include the entire nervous system - peripheral, central and autonomic. E.g. depression and anxiety due to B12 deficiency are merely an organic cause of mental health issues. POTS can be ANS damage due to B12 deficiency. 1/5
It’s something which has to bind to B12 to help it become absorbed in the small intestine 👍
I think you probably still need a boost - it’s because the UK don’t want to pay for it on the NHS. I take monthly b12 injections and have done since I was 18. In the UK they would only let me do it every 3 months. Go to private clinic and get it done
Wow!! Is there a reason why you have low B12? I will look into private treatment- thank you!!
@CQCProf @KingsCollegeLon @gmcuk @wesstreeting @CliveKay To: COMPLAINTS (KING'S COLLEGE HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST) Despite repeated emails to PALS and Dr.Gastro, my daughter was only seen on the ward after I physically attended and demanded she be reviewed again on 18 July…
Got insomnia? Got anxiety? The relationship between cobalamin (vitamin B12) and folate below the cutoff values on anxiety and insomnia symptoms: “B12 and folate levels below cutoff values were associated with more severe insomnia and anxiety symptoms.” sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
I've seen enough to call it: If we don't roll out covid vaccines for 50+ here in the next boosters, and if there's not good uptake, we're going to see an even sharper uptick in mortality for 50-75 year olds. Bookmark this. Come back and check it a year from now.
I don't know why this covid wave is so slow here, but it's still rolling and growing. It's like people's immunity is gradually fading to the point where they're vulnerable to it again.
since Covid. Our daughter had Covid in the Jan, a Strep infection in the Feb & EBV a few months earlier. Without private health she would still have an FND diagnosis, we wouldn’t have learnt about the B12 def, SiBO, MCAS & Pans Pandas. Maybe our story will help others families
NeuroCOVID findings we don't talk about much: changes in gait(difficulty balancing), inability to drive(difficulty with concentration/coordination), and seizures. Did you experience any of these?
