NEWS: I am told that defenseman Mace’o Phillips will play for the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) in the 2025-26 season. Phillips had 4 goals and 9 points with the NTDP U18s last year and was taken by the Calgary Flames in the third round, No. 80 overall, in the 2025 NHL Draft.

today and every day, believe survivors. the highest court in canada has acknowledged the legal system is not well equipped to handle sex assault cases. perhaps your trite tweets about legal concepts like presumption of innocence and due process are inapt and unnecessary.
Beyond disgusted at today’s news. Even more so at the response from people I no longer respect. If you’re making jokes, calling E.M. a liar, or are excited at the thought of your team signing one of these guys… you’re part of why more than 90% of these incidents go unreported.
re-investigating this only to dismiss and deem the evidence as not credible is so disheartening and disgusting to say the very least. further proof that the justice system continues to fail women again and again 💔
⚠️ Justice Maria Carroccia says "I do not find the evidence of E.M. to be either credible or reliable” in sexual assault case of Canada 2018 World Juniors players. “Crown cannot meet onus on any counts.” No official verdict yet.
Heart hurts for EM today. I understand that the onus of proof was not met. That doesn’t make her story untrue. She was put through the wringer with the victim blaming during the trial. I fear it will deter other SA victims from coming forward in future.
