Always great to talk to the best people when it comes to behaviour And this was definitely no exception
This is an absolutely superb episode for anyone who is trying to understand why the young people you are teaching or leading are behaving in the way they are. There are also useful tips and guidance. Well worth tuning in to #TinyVoiceTalks tinyvoicetalks.buzzsprout.com/1267127/135509…
I don't know Julia, but as someone who has experienced being ignored by medical professionals on multiple occasions, until Daniel needed emergency surgery I've no reason to doubt her horrific experience, and that includes the bullying Lights need shining
There has been no response to my appeals asking for help to stop the @PHSO publishing their botched, inept investigation into the horrific aftermath of my son’s death. Please help me to react @wesstreeting and @Keir_Starmer. Please help people like me be heard. Thank you.…
💯 I know of another near me doing this too! I moved my son after 6 weeks and he was one of 70......in 6 weeks....imagine over years!
Forgotten your planner? Day in isolation. Why would any school do this? Because... if you don’t focus on small things, they spiral into big things. This... is broken windows theory. Here’s why it’s rubbish... 🗑️👇
It's even worse than that With the addiction we still have with behaviourism, they aren't just cheated of a basic understanding, they are trained to avoid being curious about it
Trauma-informed practice is basically developmentally-informed practice. I am struck again & again by how British teachers are cheated of a basic understanding of child development. It makes their lives & jobs harder.
And yet the care system and medical professionals nearly killed my child and nobody at social services did anything It's a real mess
Our research shows that forcing parent carers to battle for support - & subjecting them to unsubstantiated accusations of neglect, abuse, or FII - puts them at risk of suicide & homicide. It's time to fix the system and stop blaming #ParentCarers!! thetimes.com/life-style/par…
It’s all going swimmingly, isn’t it? I wonder what grade a school would get with this sort oh performance!
Ofsted has missed nearly all internal inspection targets this year, its staff are less positive about working there and one in 10 left, the watchdog’s annual report and accounts reveal schoolsweek.co.uk/missed-inspect…
Nothing to see here
The MAT horror stories are coming thick and fast: this one's from Ark Academy Hastings. ITV News reports that in just 3 years, 472 kids were pulled from the Ark school before the end of their scheduled secondary education. 28% were SEND. 39% left without a new school arranged. ⬇️
I'm not sure I really understood the phrase 'ignorance is bliss' before Twitter But it really is a place of safety some are scared to leave, especially around things like trauma informed practice Must stay inside the basic behaviourist bubble
I am concerned by the low quality & low expectations of the fitness training being suggested by this government. We need far higher aspirations for our children. @RachaelMaskell @wesstreeting @DHSCgovuk @thebodycoach youtube.com/watch?v=4Hgquc…
A staggering story. "A 12-year-old girl... panicked when she realised she had arrived at school without her planner: a mistake punishable with 6 hours in isolation". Her dad: "She was rushing because she didn't want to be late for school... that would have led to a detention. ⬇️
When are we going to rename this job post, it's got zero to do with social mobility it's just the same govist tropes and false/simplistic information "All behaviour is trauma" "It's fun to break the rules" "Reasonable adjustments are unreasonable" One size fits all isn't SM
📉 'Trauma-informed practice is being implemented without sufficient supporting evidence. Most studies are small, qualitative and descriptive' buff.ly/tF1fGlI
Me looking at all the posts telling school leaders the importance of rest, knowing the work is just starting with not close to enough care and no respite
