New Letby newsletter: what about that judge’s direction that “the jury didn’t need to know the precise method, as long as they were sure”? Is that even possible, in this case? Wasn’t it appealed? h/t @EruthmaEruthmas for the 13 word tl;dr. Link below 👇

Several involved in her prosecution - including the chief expert witness and one of the accusing doctors, were fans of disgraced paediatrician Roy Meadow. He accused women of Muchausen's By Proxy, now called Fabricated or Induced Illness. (3/6) thetimes.com/uk/crime/artic…
This is relevant to the Lucy Letby case. The assumption was that Lucy was a Munchausen by Proxy . ‘Expert’ witness Dewi Evans apparently had a thing about this diagnosis. We demanded help for our sick children. We were accused of abuse thetimes.com/article/720f66…
At the start of the trial, on Day 3, the defence made a motion to call three of their expert witnesses. The prosecution objected because they wanted Letby to personally testify first, in part because Dr Hall specifically identified problems in the prosecution narrative but Letby…

In @PrivateEyeNews this week. What is in the medical records of baby O that made defence experts believe this could be gross negligence manslaughter, rather than murder, and had nothing to do with Letby? How did the prosecution experts miss a succession of obvious and serious…
Ten years ago, Bill Kirkup spoke with rare honesty about the damage caused by cover-ups and the lack of accountability in healthcare. A decade on, not only have things not improved — in many cases, they’ve gotten worse. The pattern is painfully familiar now: someone speaks up.…
Injections weren't even part of the prosecution case. Does anyone know if this interview was part of the pre verdict press conference?
It is both ironic and disturbing for Paul Hughes to be investigating Lucy Letby's former managers. In his refusal to engage with any material that might contradict his PR narrative, he's showing callous regard for patient safety concerns himself.

A point raised in @sarahknapton's article yesterday (gift link in next tweet): if the CPS bring new charges against Lucy Letby, journalists & members of the public in England & Wales will no longer be allowed to report on & scrutinise the evidence that originally convicted her.

If you’re going to arrest the managers for not spotting murder, you may as well arrest the pathologists who performed the six post-mortems, the coroner who got it wrong at inquest, the visiting team from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, the Care Quality…
I personally think it would be wise to wait until the result of Letby’s CCRC application and any appeal before taking action. A vast sum of public money has already been spent on this. However, the police may argue the CCRC could take years to reach a view. And if it goes to…
