If a scandal took place today involving a political cover-up of illegal activity at a building called “Watergate”, it would have to be called “Watergate-gate”. Otherwise people would think it was a scandal involving water.

I could have won the leadership election & the general election. But I have stood aside in the interest of the party & the national interest because the parliamentary party was too selfish to unite behind me. So when we lose the GE it will be everybody else’s fault, not mine
Among ppl who voted Conservative in 2019, Johnson has a stonking *17% lead* over Sunak in perceptions of who would do more to reduce immigration. I wonder what parameters they’re basing this on. Not sure the respective public statements provide a strong basis for this conclusion
