New post: "Britain isn't broken" We have our problems but the doomerism is getting out of hand. I look at the real picture on crime, migration, social cohesion + the economy - rather than the dsyoptian fantasies of the radical right. (£/free trial) open.substack.com/pub/samf/p/bri…
Excellent post from @Samfr - the elements on social cohesion and the economy are particularly strong. My personal wish is for HMG to stop acting as a commentator and focus attention on areas where progress can and is being made.

New post from @LawDavF on Israel's never acknowledged nuclear programme, it's history and why the ambiguity persists. (Free to read) open.substack.com/pub/samf/p/isr…
New post: "Why are young women increasingly left-wing?" There's been a lot of focus on young men + the right but less on this much bigger political shift amongst young women. Why is it happening? How could it change politics? (£/free trial) open.substack.com/pub/samf/p/why…
New post from @LawDavF "Obliteration or degradation?" How much damage did Israel and the US do to Iran's nuclear programme? What does it tell us about the limits of intelligence? And what might happen next? (£/free trial) open.substack.com/pub/samf/p/obl…
New post just out: "How much are liberals to blame for state failure?" On the strengths and weaknesses of the "abundance" philosophy. (Free to read) open.substack.com/pub/samf/p/how…
New post just out: "How much trouble is Starmer in?" I look at why it's now plausible he might not make it through another year. But also a more positive case for how he can find a way through despite very difficult circumstances. (£/free trial) samf.substack.com/p/how-much-tro…
New post from @LawDavF Britain and France agreed a nuclear deal this week (barely noticed amongst the headlines about migrants) It shows how Europe is starting to respond to the threats of Putin and Trump. (£/free trial) samf.substack.com/p/a-new-nuclea…
Excellent, incisive analysis by Sam of an ultimately disappointing 10 year plan. In particular, the question of the number of hospital beds needed is one of several apparently parked in Charles Clarke’s still very handy “too difficult” box.
New post just out: "Optimism of the will" In which I look at Labour's big plan for the NHS and why it's determination to wish problems away will undermine it. (£/free trial) open.substack.com/pub/samf/p/opt…
