The 2023 earthquakes in Türkiye severely damaged water infrastructure in Hatay. With EU support, @IOMTurkiye rehabilitated a water pumping station, restoring clean water access for over 25,000 people living in temporary accommodation centres. 💧

The killing of civilians seeking aid in Gaza is indefensible. I spoke again with @gideonsaar to recall our understanding on aid flow and made clear that IDF must stop killing people at distribution points. All options remain on the table if Israel doesn’t deliver on its pledges
🇦🇱🔥 Wildfires in Albania: The EU mobilised its #rescEU firefighting fleet to help put out the fires in the Vlora and Dibër counties. Three #rescEU planes from Greece 🇬🇷 and Italy 🇮🇹 are operating in the area. We stand ready to offer more support if needed.
As wildfire risk remains high across Europe, a dedicated team of Dutch firefighters is strategically prepositioned in Galicia, Spain, via the #EUCivilProtection Mechanism. They ensure a swift and efficient response alongside local Spanish teams in case a fire breaks out. 🇳🇱🤝🇪🇸

Access to safe water and good hygiene are crucial after a disaster. In Myanmar, @UNICEF, with the EU support, continues to provide clean water and sanitation facilities to those affected by the earthquake in March.

Israeli airstrikes targeting civilians in #Syria’s Sweida region & in Damascus must stop. I am also deeply concerned by the outbreak of inter-community violence in the country. The EU demands an immediate end to all violence, protection of civilians & full accountability.
