For those not on Capitol Hill, this is a House GOP debacle. They are so scared of votes re: Epstein that they will punt most of this week's legislative schedule and start their summer break early.
Two GOP members of the House Rules Committee told us no rule will be produced for bills this week, all because the GOP can't figure out a path forward on Epstein

Huge moment for crypto. Huge moment for updating the financial system. The GENIUS Act is now law.
Trump signs the GENIUS Act into law - a huge win for the crypto industry.
During the stablecoin bill signing, Trump gives out maybe the first nickname someone will embrace - "Mike Lawler, Mr. SALT."
Thank you for the good thoughts for PBS and esp. @NewsHour. It means the world. We're as determined to ever. Ways to support: 1. EASY one - let's build. Folo me - @LisaDNews. Folo @NewsHour RT this.
.@SenSchumer just now: “Donald Trump should fire Russell Vought immediately, before he destroys our democracy and runs the country into the ground.”
White House budget director Russ Vought: "The appropriations process has to be less bipartisan." He says only appropriators care. "There is no voter in the country that went to the polls and said, 'I'm voting for a bipartisan appropriations process.'" politico.com/live-updates/2…
NEW: @RepDonBacon just told me and @MariannaReports he is a YES on rescissions pkg. He sees it as better than when it left the House bc PEPFAR is protected. What about PBS? He told us he still expects @SpeakerJohnson to hold up his deal to fund stations in Sept.
House is voting NOW on the first of three crypto bills. First up is CLARITY, the market structure bill that defines when digital assets are a security or a commodity. Big q is how many Dems will support. Last time House took a similar vote, 71 Dems supported.

Sen COLLINS on Vought's comments on govt funding: "If you're interested in funding government, you have to have 60 votes. That means that it has to be a bipartisan process. Mr. Vought's lack of respect and apparent lack of understanding of how Congress operates is baffling…
THUNE responds to this: “Well, that runs contrary to what, you know, the math tells us around here. So, we need 60 on approps bills, and it's going to take 60 to fund the government.”
👀 “The appropriations process has to be less bipartisan,” Vought told reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast Thursday. @ktullymcmanus politico.com/live-updates/2…
The longest rule vote in House history closes - crypto bills are one step closer to final votes.
The House adopted H. Res. 580 by a vote of 217-212.
Crypto latest: Burchett, a "no" vote, says leadership has asked members to stick around as they work out an agreement on CBDC. "I think there's gonna be some resolve, but people still have some questions," he told @greta_reich_
We are now up to 7 “no’s” on the rule for the crypto bills. Negotiations over CBDC ban ongoing, per members.
